Re: ILR - Long Residence Query

The OP is applying ILR under 10 year route. OP's wife is a Tier 2 General main applicant since 2016.
Wouldn't it make sense for the OP's wife to apply ILR through Tier 2 General 5 year route in 2021.
Switching to FLR will reset the ILR clock to 0?

Overview
You can apply to settle in the UK if you’ve been in the UK legally for 10 continuous years (known as ‘long residence’).

For example in, https://www.gov.uk/long-residence/apply-to-settle You’ll be told whether your application has been successful within 6 months of your application date if you use the standard service. When you download your application form, the application date is the date you paid & submitted o...

@veerabchv, you cannot change your application to super priority if you already applied on the standard service. You need to withdraw before biometrics submission(for a refund) and re-apply again. Super priority is available only for SET(O) route https://www.gov.uk/faster-decision-visa-settlement/el...

Re: Taking Life in the UK test 3 months before ILR application?

Yes, go ahead. LIUK results do not expire.
Google "Life in UK test web" and then the first link which takes you to a set of 16 exams. Practice hard until you get everything right. I have used this website along with loads of my friends to pass the LIUK

1. Home Office take a good few weeks/months to issue curtailment letters. The letter would give you a further 60 days
2. Yes
3. Under Long Residence route, yes. All visas are counted

1. No. Usually there is no notification before 48 hours.
2. No. Take essential items with you i.e passport, brp, appointment letter and other hard copies you already possess. Carry soft copies in your phone just in case. No need to print soft copies off.

Re: Global Talent dependent to Tier 2 ICT stitch

It might be easier for you to switch to the new 'Skilled Worker' visa route. Time spent on Tier 2 ICT does not lead to settlement(on a 5 year route). So, a definite NO if you want to keep the option of settlement. Moreover, for Tier 2 ICT, you may need to prove that you are working for this employer...

Re: Outside UK in India for more than 6 months due to Maternity

There shouldn't be any issue to enter the UK again. Obviously, the newborn will need to apply for an entry clearance visa. I hope you are aware of the fact that children born outside UK are not entitled to apply for British citizenship when one of the parent obtains ILR. Yourself and your kids may q...

Yes, if your visa is still valid. Else, you will need to apply for a dependent visa again before entering the UK.
You cannot extend your visa outside the UK

This might rub salt on wounds for SET(M) and SET(LR) applicants. Appears super priority service has been opened for SET(O) applicants: https://www.gov.uk/faster-decision-visa-settlement/eligible-visas-when-applying-inside-the-uk do you think they will extend the super priority to SET (LR).. if yes,...

Sorry. I overlooked the fact that you have already travelled to India.

1. Yes, as you are in India
2. I am unsure. If this address be used for delivering passports, then pick 'Yes'
3. No. I think you need to say you were in the UK as a dependent of a Tier 2 ICT applicant. You were not on a work visa

If you have uploaded the document before biometric appointment you are good.
Better carry a copy of the consent form with you to the appointment and check with the staff if they can see the updated form on their systems.

You can switch within the UK.
This was not possible with Tier 2 General visa earlier.

For the LR applications, is the backlog/decision time improving or getting worse now since covid? From my research it seems to have gone from 5 months (first lockdown) to 3-4 months now (only know this by looking at the threads). I’m wondering whether Christmas would’ve put a dent in catching up wi...

A long thread with too many questions puts off many from responding. I will try answering the ones I can. 1. After getting new BRP 2. Not entirely sure. 11th April if you need to serve 90 days notice? 3. Not everybody is eligible to do so. See section 'If you’ve applied for a work visa and are waiti...
