Re: Long residence & PBS dependent status

If the main PBS holder is granted ILR on the basis of Long residence , then the PBS holder did not gain ILR in their current route, i.e. as a PBS migrant. My goodness. I honestly didn't interpret it this way. Still appears controversial as the OP was a PBS migrant when he gained ILR(though not on t...

Re: Long residence & PBS dependent status

HI OP Don't the below lines indicate that your partner needs to switch her visa? Just trying to understand. They do not have to switch into the category of partner of a settled person, provided that the main PBS migrant gains settlement in their current route or gains British citizenship following a...

Why does your solicitor want you to vary to LR?
I have read in previous posts that HO perform HMRC checks irrespective of ILR application category

As you mentioned ILR, questions on extending stay: Assuming I manage to find a job, I know I can apply within 28 days of the expiry of my current leave. Now I understand the date of further leave to remain will start when the application is decided, likely increasing total overstay to more than 28 ...

Re: Tier 2 ICT (short term) to DLR to Tier 2 General

Hi

There is a 12 month cool-off period between your Tier 2 ICT and Tier 2 General.
This means you might need to file an extension on your current visa or leave the country to complete the cool-off period

Re: Tier 2 ICT - Two entry clearances & absences

What do you mean by the below?
Was this an extension within the UK?

I came back to UK again in June 2010 ( Gap of about 8 months ) and was asked to apply for a visa again since the category was then Tier 2 ICT (Established Staff).

Your employer cannot directly curtail your leave, however they are obliged to intimate HO that you have resigned. HO may or may not curtail your leave...

Always amazes me so many Tier sponsors can afford to go through the effort and expense of obtaining a sponsors licence and the hassle of emgaging a migrant worker over a local one then be so skint they can't even pass on their employees tax. I think most of these are due to the so called umbrella c...

Hi mate I think your Tier 2 General application will need to be made in your home country https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/514054/Tier_2_Policy_Guidance_04_2016.pdf Read Note 1 under Point 15. It categorically says a switch is not possible. This means, your a...
