If you have a valid reason, you should fax homeoffice (IND) team explaining why you want them to treat your application as a priority.

NO

It means you got HSMP and your passport is with IND for HSMP stamp. It may take 3-4 weeks.

It might be beneficial for those, who switched from work permit to HSMP.

For Example:

2 years WP + 1 year HSMP + 3 year HSMP EXTE. > 4years = ILR

Once you get your HSMP approval letter you will have to get your passport stamped for HSMP.

Homeoffice database will display your current status as HSMP.

HSMP will supersede WORKPERMIT.

According to Home office (In-Country team)
Latest Stamp always supercedes the old one whether or not it is mentioned in your passport.

Yes I faxed urgent treatment request to in-country team again for HSMP stamp.(one has to fax both HSMP as well as in-country team for urgent request)

Axer,

HSMP stamp superseded my work permit and I informed my employeer accrodingly.

In theory latest stamp superseded the old stamp in any situations.
