False alarm - my package was indeed from Amazon. I got FAR too excited, only to be greatly disappointed. Ugh. Still, I am encouraged by TnT's story. TnT - did you request anything back, or did this happen indepentently of any intervention? I did request the sponsor passport back but that was around...

"I'm very new here but have been reading posts on here for quite a while. I would like to know if there's a set time between when an FLR(m) application is made and when the biometrics letter is sent. I have received only an acknowledgement letter and no biometrics letter and it's been 12 weeks...

Thanks for sharing the select committee documents. I have had a quick look through them - but it seems to me that the inquiry is about Asylum cases and the 'immigration refusal pool' (i.e. those who have been refused their visa but illegally staying in the country). It looks to me like the agency b...

The signs are all there: select committee review, increased MP involvement and now hiring of temp staff. UKBA is trying to fix things. I am a July applicant and now actively reviewin...

I'm not really sure of the exact date but she applied July and got her biometrics letter around mid August. By the way, she applied for ILR and not FLR(M) though. I'm guessing ILRs are being processed faster compared to FLR(M)s, maybe there are more case workers for ILR? or maybe they are putting o...

Re: Biometrics Letter

The same happened to me. The bio letter was dated the day after my husband called to request his passport. The simple reason is in order to return a document, we need to be in their database; and when your application is entered into the database, the bio letter is automatically generated. I missed...

Re: Withdraw and re-apply

http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/postal_flrm_applications_times_a#incoming-311921 Is it possible for UKBA to return the applicant's passport back for travel purposes without withdrawing the application? Maybe that could be a suggestion to our MPs, so that when UKBA comes to our application the...

http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/postal_flrm_applications_times_a#incoming-311921 I love how they assume I'm a dude. They give the most vague answers possible, and I've given up trying to understand how they operate. It sounds like they put applications in order of application date ONCE biomet...

Received biometrics letter

So peeps, as expected, we got the biometrics letter today. Not much of an update otherwise, we just now join the long queue of people waiting for their visas. So if I was to play the estimation game, would it be fair to say that once UKBA receives the biometrics information, your application could e...
