Right of Abode Question

I was reading on the IND website and found the following information. I was wondering if anyone knew exactly what the "Adult Child of British Mother" act of 2002 was considered? Is it Right of Abode or Adult registration? Thanks! The expected average processing time for types of applicatio...

Long Form Birth Certificates?

Does anyone know when long form birth certificates were first issued? When I applied for a copy of my mothers BC it was only a single sheet.

Nadine,

It might help to know your age, total work experience, education etc... It has been my experience that most people applying for under 28 HSMP almost always need a degree. Give further details and I will try to help.

I would suggest that you take what you can get in the beginning. The normal operating procedure is employment at will from the firm doing the hiring. Informed companies are hesitant to offer perm positions to HSMP holders due to the fact that the potential employee may be gone in 12 months. If you c...

Specialist or Senior Level depends on the amount of time spent at your position and your responsibilities. Looking at your list of positions it might help to know your age, wages, and country. I might also suggest you look at Section 8 on the HSMP form.

Home Office Now Processing Apps From Feb 27

It seems to me the process is really beginning to slow down. I think the previous message from HO stated that the were processing applications from Feb 23 and updated of May 25.

My request for a REF number took over 2 weeks. I also faxed 2 job offers along with my request. It did not seem to make any difference. LA_Mike has a great spreadsheet at the top of this page which will give you a general idea of processing time.

Contracts

When speaking to an agency always ask for a job description. The agencies work and advertise from what the company gives them. But the agencies don't always print exactly what they receive from the firm doin the hiring. Most contracts are not done by hour but by the day. Which should be clarified wi...

Contracts

Most of the jobs I have been iterviewing for are contract. I have 2 contract offers and 2 permanent positions. The usual questions are what is your availability? What is your notice period? What is your status in the UK? The contracting game in the UK is a little bit different than in the US. Contra...

I applied for the HSMP last month. I haave been talking to recruiters and consulting firms about four hours a day since. Here is an interesting issue - I just recently got approved for a British Passport thanks to the BNA 2002 rules having British Mother. Now when I talk to the recruiters and they a...

Tnavon thanks for the help.

She was born is Essex. I have read the UK visas website and am still confused about some things. It seems that if your born before 1983 less options are available.

Does it matter that I am the only one left over here (USA).

Kindest Regards,

Shaun
