Please could someone enlighten if an ILR holder can claim public funds viz. child tax credit, child benefit.... without harming his or her British Nationality application.

What can (and cannot) one claim as an ILR holder (preferably link to the home office website) ?

Many Thanks

Thanks Joseph for your reply.

One more question - on the date of employer's letter - how early can it be from the date of your appointment ?

Thanks in advance

Advance apologies for being thick.

By date on passport you meant :

a. Date on which visa is approved and stamped on the passport in your home country (or)

b. Date on passport of first entry into the UK

Thanks in advance.

Please could anyone with experience (or knowledegable) on this c...

Many Thanks for your replies. However, I guess I underplayed the fact that the work experience letters that I have are very generic. All it says are - dates of joining/ leaving and the designation (job title). They do not go into any detail to describe my roles & responsibilities. Is this ok ? T...
