Yes - Set (M) ...originally when I was checking this forum months ago it seemed the Set (O) were quicker... but somehow it seems there's been a load of approvals all around this same current time for some reason... maybe they suddenly employed a load more staff due to everyone's complaints!? Finally...

Finally I can confirm that we've had our passports back and the confirmation letter that my wife's ILR has been approved after applying on the 26th June and biometrics taken 18th August. It's certainly a nice relief and weight off our shoulders. The envelope was sent via royal mail signed for and st...

Re: Delivery attempt - DX

That is really great news... and I can only assume my wife's has been approved too but it will be good to see it in writing later this afternoon when I pick it up! Although it is something that you don't let rule your life, as in the end it just allows you to do what you were already doing - staying...

Re: Delivery attempt - DX

Mrs Nzuki I too have had a missed delivery today from DX!!! ...I believe this is it... I've rearranged for ours to be delivered to my work on Wednesday, plus I'm still collecting the 'Royal Mail signed for' packet Tuesday afternoon... I 'think' that they send the passports separately from the origin...

Yep, fingers crossed! Arranged to pick it up Tuesday so we'll see... Although I'm not holding my breath on it being the passports! Those who've had their passports back and successful return if documents etc, what company is it sent by? We had a missed attempted delivery yesterday from Royal Mail Si...

Re: Travel whilst SET M in process

Good luck with that... and let us know how you get on... yes we still have her passport as you don't send this when using the checking service. I suppose i will have to call and ask the question then and see what confused answer i get of the agent on the other end of the phone :-) We have had...

Re: Travel whilst SET M in process

When you say she still has her documents, does that mean her passport? I suppose (although a risk?) she could travel there on current passport, and when the visa comes through in the UK get someone to send it over to you so you can use it on your return?... Perhaps??? WE applied using the checking s...

Re: Travel whilst SET M in process

Yeh - if I'd paid extra and used the checking service I would definitely have expected it to go through quicker, however, I've seen many others on here that used that service and it literally took the same length of time as if they hadn't used it. It sounds strange that you haven't had the biometric...

Re: Travel whilst SET M in process

Neil - to be honest, I'd love to say that they would hurry up the application, or allow you to travel before the visa comes through, but from the information that I've come across on here I doubt that would be the case. If it was me I think I'd be tempted not to even contact them at all unless 'real...

Baxx - you speak sense. :) Unfortunately anyone who has any wisdom and maturity knows that life is not always 'fair'. Unfortunately the term 'fair' is too often used selfishly and relative only to ourselves, rather than relative to things that are happening to others elsewhere in the world at this v...

The costs of the visas are of course expensive. This I feel in part is limit the amount of people who want to become a resident here and to consider this privilege seriously. Otherwise everyone would apply to stay here if it was both cheap and easy to do! "Outrageous" would be the term I w...

...as I said before - being angry and moaning on a forum will change nothing. It is good that people can vent themselves on here - but really if you look at the hsitory on this particularly long forum there is no amount of complaining or moaning that hasn't been heard before. Of course we all know t...

Indeed I don't disagree that we "shouldn't" have to put up with the way this system works, but as you go through life you realise there are things that you can change and there are things that you are unable to change. For those things that you can't change then there is no point moaning a...

Patience...

I think a lot of people on here need to really relax and take a chill pill!!! Patience really is a virtue in life and a quality I've not seen much on this forum, and to stress out and work yourself up about something that you can't change is pretty pointless. Yes, worry in life if your close loved o...

It seems the least they could do seeing as you paid the extra premium for the settlement checking service! ...I thought this service was meant to fast-track you and give some priority?
Either way, glad you finally got a result! :)

Hi Speed... what a nightmare... I still don't know how long my wife's is going to take, every day I expect to go home to find it's had an attempted delivery but not yet unfortunately! I'm surprised though that you applied before ours (we sent June 26th) and we got the Biometric Letter 18th August an...

The worrying thing is there's still plenty of people on that list that are still 'waiting' from much earlier on in the year, like February, March etc... unless of course they just didn't return here to give an update on their status! (I'm alright Jack!) Again, looking at the list from those that hav...
