Thank you for joining in, It really isn't about me. I will have IRL soon, after such a long time! I just think, sometimes, that residency should be earned with passion and love for the UK, but that's just my thinking. Surely, anyone here must have some moments feeling "How is THAT fair?" a...

Perhaps you think this is really just about my feeling? Well, it's not intended for my personal condolence. I have missed every opportunity to have IRL because of timing, not because of lack of skill nor connections to the UK. I just am thinking UKBA is kinder to people who are more manipulative, an...

Re: Should you really be here?

I'll start one, so you will know what sort of discussion I am suggesting. I had a male friend who married an immigrant. Girl was basically stalking him for a long time till he slipped and cheated on his girl friend with her, whom he eventually married. People assumed she really x3 liked him but I ju...

Should you really be here?

I am posting this to start a thread to openly discuss the topic, but not to accuse or question particular individuals, but more to have different insights from many different people. Do you ever feel you deserve to be here, utterly, because someone you know have residency of LR for reasons you just...

Another backlog was discovered in UKBA: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-21170495 Gawd, they are shameless! These people could be hanging around in UK, or gave up and left the country? May be, but all I know - it only adds further frustration for people like you and me. By the way, my adviser is planni...

Re: ILR approved

That itself sounds like a "Stock Response"! Hope the MP will actually do something for you. Thank you for sharing this information with us! Yes, three times (I call every Friday) - each time they just say they haven't made a decision. My application was SET (O) no dependents (Tier 1 @+ HSM...

Re: ILR approved

What I gathered from reading posts here; SET (M) is processed quickest, Followed by SET (O) postal made by individuals, Followed by SET (O) postal made through solicitors / advisers. I have a friend who worked for UKBA told me applications made through agents are set aside and processed separately, ...

Re: Recieved BRP

OMG!! Congrats! Sooo happy for you! Yes, like the other post states you do need to renew the card after 10 years, but no detail is set at the moment on this i.e. process, cost etc. (It may change entirely in next 10 years.) I think application made via advisers taking slightly longer, but still mine...

Re: Advice needed

Sheford, I am so sorry to hear a bad news after your great news. Why life is never easy? I had a light look around, and I think (am no expert so it's just what UKBA website says) your wife is eligible to apply for FLR(M), within UK. In order to do so she can only over stay for less than 28 days, so ...

Re: Number of case workers for ILR applications..

107 case workers who probably do same day applications every day, too! They must work on 1-2 postal apps each in between same-day apps. (No wonder it is taking bloody ages...) I do not think £350 less is considerably lower fee at all, especially when postal applicants do have to pay additional fees ...

Re: New tactic by UKBA - LOL

I applied on 29th May and as its been well over six months I called UKBA to ask the status of my application. The reply given was that the guidline of six months is from the day you give the Biometric and not the date of applicaiton. Hilarious That person lied to you, it's actually six months from ...
