Re: Check the status of your application online - New servic

I tried it using the home office reference number I got on my biometric enrolment letter and it worked. This is for a naturalisation application I made in Feb 2017 which was approved. I got the letter mid-May and the online status reflects a decision being made in early May. Can you confirm that th...

Passport delivery after citizenship ceremony

I'm trying to work out when I need to be at home to take delivery of my passport. I attended a citizenship ceremony last week and understand the passport can be delivered within 20 working days of the ceremony. My question: do you get a text or email when it's going to be dispatched? Need to plan fo...

Re: No receipt by HO/UKVI or email confirmation

I've noticed processing timelines for April and May applicants has really slowed to a bit of a crawl. A few weeks to get the confirmation, compared to Jan and Feb where confirmation came through only a few days after application submission.

Re: Documents required for BC

I can only answer some of your questions as I don't know the answers to all of them. 1 - Is it ok to send application on 02/03rd june by NCS ? (even if it says that you can apply after 12 months) . I was told by my lawyer that you can apply within 28 days You should consider getting a new lawyer if ...

Re: BRP Return - Covering Note Template

There's a lot of unnecessary information in your covering note. The following single sentence satisfies all the requirements : I, <<Full Name>>, born <<dd-MM-yyyy>>, am returning my BRP (document number: <<BRP Card Number>>) because I've become a citizen. It's what I scrawled on a piece of paper fo...

Re: Citizenship Invitation Letter and Council booking

The council. This particular issue doesn't sound like something that the Home Office would be able to sort out. Sounds like a bit of an admin error with your council. See if you can take your approval + invitation letters to see them in person? Hopefully it's just an unfortunate glitch involving err...

Re: British Citizenship after bankruptcy?

You should probably seek legal advice given the sensitive nature of your case and given what could be at stake i.e. a ten year ban. Legal advice will be expensive but try not to go for the cheapest, it could be a costly mistake...

Re: Calculation of holding ILR for 12 months

No chance. You need to be free from immigration control (ILR) for a full 12 months. having spent 5yrs as an EEA RC holder obviously free of immigration control You were NOT free from immigration control holding a residence card as EEA Family Member (assuming you are not an EU citizen). Free from im...

Re: Applying citizenship but moving home shortly.?

On the 'additional information' page of the application form, state your new address and when you will be moving in. A few weeks before your move, change your address with your bank or credit card providers so statements with your new address will show up in the post. When you move, log on to https:...

Re: Treaty rights passport application employment history

I think the original poster is probably referring to applying for naturalisation.

I didn't have my P60s or P45s when applying for naturalisation, but I used letters from my employers to confirm my start and finish dates for the qualifying period. It was fine, my application was approved.

Hi, I'm new to this blog. Can such circumstance - if found and confi...

Re: Biometrics Deadline - Is it Working Days

If you don't complete your biometrics within the timeframe, I believe they send you a second letter asking you to complete it within either a similar or shorter timeframe (10 working days seems to come to my head, but search through the forums to see if that is right). So in theory if you can provid...

Declare it and in the additional information section explain that it was cancelled.

You have nothing to lose by declaring, and everything to lose by not declaring it.

Re: NCS appointments in London: Only available in 6 weeks!

That's quite astonishing. I can imagine this surge is quite unprecedented, much like the EU referendum result. I've noticed processing times for Dec, Jan and Feb applicants have been much slower compared to the same period last year, and this year's April's timelines seem to be going at a snail's pa...

2017 applicants seem to be much slower?

Anyone noticed that 2017 approvals seem to be coming through much slower this year? Or is it just me? I'm guessing the additional workload for processing PR applicants for EU nationals post-referendum is playing a big part. Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Pro

Anyone noticed how much longer it's taking for applications to be processed to reach a decision? For instance, looking back to the Jan and Feb 2016 timeline threads last year, by March 2016 alone many decisions were flying through, after a matter of a handful of weeks! I'd estimate applicants were g...
