with due respect, I don't think what OL7MAX has stated is completely true.. each place has their advantages and disadvantages. After we had our baby here, the support provided by the nurses, midwives and later Health visitors was very valuable. Of course your wife might not be able to travel in the ...

Naturalisation certificate - after getting British Passport

Hi all, I had applied for my naturalisation in Dec 2005 & British passport in Jan 2006. I have suddenly realised (yes, I know!), that I don't have my original certificate with me. I think we had to submit it with the passport application, but I am not sure if I got it back from the Passport offi...

PAN Card

Hi,

Does anyone know when did the Income Tax dept in India start issuing PAN cards. I know my PAN but don't have a card.

I don't know if I have misplaced it or just didn't have one. How easy is it to get duplicate?

Has anyone got a PAN card while in the UK?

Thanks,
PB

I think getting a Visitor visa to UK is relatively straightforward. Just need to ensure that all documentation is in order. It is useful to have sufficient funds in whatever accounts your mother/mother-in-law holds. But you should also send a letter stating that 'All expenses during their trip here ...

Vivek, Whilst not disagreeing with the moderators, would just like to share my experience - we had a lot of people visit us in May 2004 after our daughter was born. We ended up with 6-7 people and a baby in a 2 bed flat for some length of time - we had sent a bog standard invitation /sponsor letter ...

Hi Vivek,

All your guests would be visiting you on Visitor Visa i.e. short stay visa. You don't have to supply any proof about the type of your acco for that. It is sufficient to say that they would be staying with you for the duration of the stay.

See here

Re: ILR guidance - Annex F

Under various paragraphs of HC 395 settlement may be granted to those who have spent 4 years here in certain categories, but only if it has been specifically applied for. This arrangement is also extended to those who have remained here exceptionally outside the rules in permit-free employment for ...

I am aware of a few cases where people have got ILR without the Employer's letter. I think there has been some discussion about the same on this board also. Perhaps you could call the Homeoffice or Croydon PEO and find out.

Has anyone applied for OIC? Does anyone know whether the HCI in London are accepting applications? I am not clear about the fees. The form says £275 per applicant. So if a family of 3 (Husband, wife, child)apply - is the fee £275 or £275 X 3?

Thanks,

Applied for Naturalisation at Haringey

Hi, I and my spouse applied for Naturalisation at NCS, Haringey yesterday. We had an appointment for 10:00 a.m. The whole process was a breeze, as has been documented previously: See Here It took less than 10 minutes for the lady to verify our documents. The Photocopying took about 20. She checked o...

I phoned the NCS office and also the Nationality Helpdesk (08450105200). Both have confirmed that I can use the old form, if I am applying before the 1st of Nov.

Phew!!!

Do you know if this form is to be used for applications made before 1st of Nov 2005?

I am planning to apply on Thurs, but my referees have signed the old form and they don't live locally, so there is no way I can get them to sign the new form before the 6th.

Hi, Does anyone know if a Post Graduate Doctor can do his Specialist SPR training while on HSMP? Or do they have to switch back to Permit-free Training scheme in order to do that?
