Re: Was I a British Citizen on ...

So ILR BRP with Passport You can send full photocopies. Hi, the guidance on passport application says that only original documents should be sent, photocopies are not accepted. Two identity docs required are: * Childs Identity (I assume the birth certificate will suffice as that all I have on him) ...

and nationality during ILR/PR is not British but the previous nationality? Correct. So, you would have had your previous nationality and settled status in the UK at the time of the child's birth. Your child has British citizenship and the citizenships by descent from its mother and you. Does your p...

Was I a British Citizen on ...

My naturalisation application was approved on 15/04/15. My first son was born on 29/05/15. Was I a BC at the time of his birth?

I attended the ceremony on 02/06/15 and my passport was issued on 06/07/15.

I need to answer this on my son's passport application form.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Getting married to a girl whose LTR is expired!

They are doing islamic marriage. Does that further complicate or does it have no relevance. Also if they were ever to have a child could that reduce the level of difficulty in eventually getting a legal status for the girl? Sounds naive. 'Girl' is 10+ years off citizenship. A child is not a visa. S...

Re: Getting married to a girl whose LTR is expired!

An Islamic marriage won't be recognised under British law. In any event, even if they manage to marry in a Home Office approved Registry Office, this won't change her illegal status. I got BC earlier this year following 10 years residence. My wife joined me in 2011 from back home. We had the islami...

My friend has ILR he is going to marry a girl who originally came on a student visa roughly 4 years ago. The college got closed within few months of arrival. She then didnt bother renewing her visa. Changes in Spouse Visa rule??

I was told yesterday by a worried friend of mine that she heard that from March 2016 the foreign spouses of BC will not get British passports, they will only get permanent ILR. Also, the time to reach ILR will increase from 5 years to 7.5 years.

Is there any truth in the above please?

Any idea of the cost of check up at walk in. Is that the prescription cost you are talking about? Aren't visitors supposed to have paid a surcharge as part of the visa application?

Is that correct, I thought if you are not a BC from birth (like I am not), your children which are born abroad don't automatically qualify for BC. Or I am confusing with some other requirements? Your children born outside UK, born after you became a British citizen, will be British by descent . Con...

Gurus/Obie if my wife goes with me abroad and return in time to renew her visa in 2017, would that affect her extension for next time around. She is a mother of BC son who will be 2 years old in 2017? I am in desperate need of options as I really want to take my family with me abroad, please advise.
