As long as they are salaries that show up for tax purposes and on the salary statements, they will be acceptable.

I guess 24k is active enough. Previously someone wrote that they had only a temp position for 3 months or so and were granted extension.

Re: So even in fact i no longer have enough points,

So even in fact i no longer have enough points, it doesn't matter? As I have current job in UK. If I just keep this job, ( the salary is too low to earn any point), I'm still counted as economically active, right? The renewal of HSMP visa after one year is not assessed by points system but on the b...

If you otherwise require a visa to enter any European country, then you will need a visa to do so even if you have a valid UK visa (HSMP, Work permit etc.). Only Switzerland allows you to visit without a visa provided you hold a valid UK visa which is good for at least 6 months. A Schengen visa will...

As mwazir said, if you do not apply for FLR within 6 months of HSMP approval then you can continue with your present empl...

What is/was your designation while you are doing your Ph.D. For eg. if your appointment letter mentions it as xxxx Fellow then you claim points on that basis and don’t bring Ph.D. into the picture at all. Thus, you will have points for Master’s degree plus 3-4 working experience in research (detaile...

Machine generated bank statements sent by banks are accepted without signatures whereas if you print out the statements from the internet some institution want to see the bank stamp and signature. So you fine with the statements that you have sent.

One of the criteria to get spouse/partner points is that the person in question must not have been granted permanent settlement in the UK which provides all rights of a citizen. Since a British citizen already has the right to live and work in the UK, by extension of the above rule it could be argue...

Re: Advice needed from moderators/authentic experts on HSMP

1. Currently I am working on the work permit and have applied for HSMP. After I get HSMP and FLR(IED) approval, will the Home Office inform about approval of FLR(IED) and cancellation of current work permit to my current employer even if my employer does not contact them. I am worried that my emplo...

4. As far as I know, the HSMP is not a visa, denial of HSMP does not represent a denial of a visa.....the EC will be the visa...but you might want to check that, in any case, not telling them won;t help, they have a system that will match your history (date of birth and name) From HSMP guidance not...

It says Residence Permit and has a similar design to Residence permits issued by other EC member states – part of the unification exercise I suppose.

I would be happy to see the rule which says both have to arrive together the first time. If both apply for EC at the same time, the wife will get the dependent visa. Consider the case where both travel to the UK, but the wife gets a job, does it mean that she cannot take it up as long as the HSMP holder does not get one? Along similar lines, after getting the EC, the HSMP holder has for...
