Re: Traveling before ceremony

Thank for clarifying - and for mentioning about the children thing (registering is next on my to-do list!).

All makes sense now!

Re: Traveling before ceremony

Thank you both - just double checking: you would suggest not returning the BRP until after I get the UK passport (in other words, keep it even after the ceremony)?

Thanks again!

Traveling before ceremony

I just received an email from the local council inviting me to the citizenship ceremony - the earliest date they can offer is 1st August and the council does not do private ceremonies. I still haven't received the HO letter, but I suspect/presume it will show up today. I'm a non-EU citizen with a EU...

Re: 5 years evidence of living in UK - question about documention

Thank you both! This is helpful and very reassuring. One last question: do you think i need to submit the self assessment return for 2023-2024 before applying? (The tax year just ended, so while I have until January, it is possible to submit now as well. I just rather would not if not necessary - I ...

5 years evidence of living in UK - question about documention

Hi there, I am currently applying for BC; I have settled status as a family member of an EEA (ROI) citizen. The Settled Status BRP was issued in 2021; I held an EEA PR before this - which was sent back when the settled status brp was issued. My questions are regarding the requirement to prove I have...

Re: EU family member (EEA2) - postgraduate funding eligibili

Ah that does make sense - though it is a bit frustrating to have to persuade people on individual bases :D

Thanks for your input and insight - alas my field of study is firmly in the AHRC category, so as you rightly said, it's a bit more difficult for everyone...

Re: EU family member (EEA2) - postgraduate funding eligibili

Hello - thanks for the reply. In terms of qualifying as a Home/EU student, I found this (and have been quoting it to universities liberally:)) In order to qualify for 'home' fees under this category, you must meet all of the following criteria: a) on the first day of an academic year of your course,...

EU family member (EEA2) - postgraduate funding eligibility

Hello everyone - have a weird question, hoping you can help. I'm a non-EU national, married for over 2 years to an EU national working in the UK. I currently hold an EEA2. I've been in the UK for over 5 years and out of education for 4. I know my status means I am treated as a home-student at univer...

Big thank you to everyone on the forum - at one point just before we applied, I was seriously addicted to each and every post. EEA1/EEA2 (unmarried partner) EEA1+EEA2 sent: 20/12/2012 Received by UKBA: 21/12/2012 C...

Thanks for the quick reply Jambo! (He would be my husband not my wife though:) And in full time employment so exercising treaty rights.) The wedding is in early January - so about three weeks after my PSW runs out. The issue is - I would be an overstayer during that time. Would that not influence my...

EEA 2 - getting married after applying for partnership

Hi everyone, Have been a long time reader of the forum, and hope you can help! I'm a non-EU citizen, currently on a PSW visa, that expires soon - 3 weeks or so. My EU boyfriend and I have been together for almost 3 years (in feb), and we were planning to get married; we gave notice but then acted to...
