Thanks for the replies. Much appreciated. INIS got back to me and have confirmed that I can proceed and have my wife's passport renewed but keep the old cancelled one. Spouse renewing passport while abroad - re-entry stamp issue

I am currently on holidays with my peruvian wife in Peru. She has stamp 4 ( married to an Irish national). She renewed her stamp in July 2014. It expires in July 2015. At this point she'll be given a 3 year stamp when she renews. However her passport expires in July 2016. So in accordance with the r...

Re: Visa for girlfiend / fiancee

As long as the marriage is valid, your relationship history shows that the relationship is true (i.e. not a sham) and most importantly that you can support your partner financially without the need of State assistance - then I cannot see a reason why they would refuse the application. There are othe...

No worries, glad I could help. I know how confusing and difficult it can be when you first start off. You are bombarded with information and INIS often will give you conflicting information and their website is not the easiest to read through. Yes Spanish-English speaking children (with some Irish o...

It took around 10 weeks for the visa to be processed and approved. It had to go through Mexico as that's the Embassy that deals with Peru and as it was D visa (long term visa), it then went to Dublin for consideration. So yes I met my wife a few times and spent several weeks with her each time. Whil...

I was married 9 months after my wife and I first met. So needing two years is obviously not true. Nor should you need a year given my circumstances. Most importantly is evidence of face to face relationships. - Stamps on your passport showing entry / exit of Philippines - Flight tickets - Pictures t...

also, do they grant vsa's with longer validity, like 1,2 or 5 years? I have read that you can get a 1 year with 90 days. A work colleague from India confirmed this with me. On application for a visa, she would need to pay and demonstrate that she has sufficient funds, insurance, accommodation, etc....

He took a photo of my wife - I assume this is for immigration purposes...... wasn't expecting this. Is this the norm Yes this is normally for first timers arriving in Ireland. It is necessary for them to take a photo of you if you're arriving from a Non-EU country for the first time. Ah ok. That's ...

So what you are saying that she applies for a visa to the UK?
And she comes and lives in Northern Ireland?

I am unsure on how this area works.
Would you have any information on it?

Cheers.

Thanks for the response. Yes I understand the point that having a relationship less than 2 years before marriage could look suspicious and sham like in their view. We will have just 1 year by the time we get married in July. My understanding from speaking to him on the phone is that our relationship...

Hi, I previously posted about my girlfriends student visa refusal. http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?p=746767#746767 We decided not to appeal. Instead our relationship has progressed and we are now engaged. I am an Irish citizen and she's Peruvian. So we plan to get married in July 2013...

Hi all, My girlfriend of 5 months is from Peru. She applied for a Student visa and submitted it mid October 2012. Last week we got the bad news it was refused on 3 areas. 1) Finances 2) Obligation to return back to Peru 3) Observe conditions of the visa. I am my girlfriend's sponsor. I am lucky to w...
