Family member of EEA national claiming child benefit in past

Hi, my wife is malaysian. I am an irish citizen. My wife and i have lived here for about 6 years now and thought we'd get round to applying for EEA(PR). She has had valid residence cards throughout, and her current one runs out in 2018. Other than this one question, i think we've got everything else...

you have to pay to renounce your british citizenship - nearly £1000.

Our application was submitted on June 14th
home office issued an acknowledgement on the 18th
CoA issued on the 24th
residence card issued on June 27th
passports and documents returned to us on July 14th and 19 July by special (recorded?) delivery

thanks. Not sure what you mean by "covers you prospectively, not retrospectively". She has the residence card, and has had it since 2009. i dont think we broke residence. there's a specific allowance for a single, 8 month long trip, and in this case it was for maternity leave (which is, by...
