I suggest you go back to the airport where it was stamped and talk to the immigration officers there. One of tem should be able to cancel the stamp and append his signature. At least we all agree on the fact that you need ILR for Child benefit. As for 'Child tax credit', it is actually called 'Tax credit'. It is dependent on your household income and the number of underage children you have. You can give the tax office a call and they will be able to explain more.

Yes, you can apply for both. Child benefits is only after ILR. Child tax credit is if you pay tax and qualify and do not need ILR for it.

Try log on to DHL website (www.dhl.co.uk), click on TRACKING and insert the Waybill number from the HO (I hope you have it). You might be able to get some useful information as to where your travel documents are.
