Hi All About to apply for ILR using form SET(O) on Monday at Cardiff PEO. Just wondered if it is granted what you get? Will I get a new visa stuck into my passport? Does this happen there and then at the PEO? Do I get a biometric residence permit? What exactly is one of these? Do I still just show m...

Re: TIER 2 (ESV) to ILR

Thanks - no he's not on a dependent visa and is applying in his own right from being in the UK 5 years on an employer sponsored tier 2 visa. We will write in the supporting statement that he is married to a UK citizen and that we have been together 4 years. Should we include cohab docs? If so what t...

Re: TIER 2 (ESV) to ILR

Great - thanks for the reply. Can you advise where he can take the 'Life in the UK ' test, how do we go about booking this? Also do you know how much it costs? Should we get this done before we make the appointment at the office?

That's brilliant, thank you :) There should be no problem with my employers writing a letter, I am still doin g the same job, same job title, have had a pay increase but that shouldn't matter if the job title is still the same right? I haven't had more than 35 days out of the country in any year, I ...

Sorry forgot to say, do I need to take a test on UK life?
Lastly, I have read that you need a certain amount of money/salary to be considered. I earn around £30,000 p/a and we have some savings will that be sufficient?

Thanks

Tier 2 Sponsored Visa - 5 years served - Apply for ILR

Hi, Apologies if this has already been asked but I couldn't see anything. I am not very clued up about all of this and am trying to familiarise myself with it all before I apply using SET (O) early next year. Is there anywhere where this process has been broken down and simplified for people like me...

Thank you so much Anniecc you have been really helpful. Especially as we just didn't know where to start as all of the information confused us. Just had a look at the SET(O) form - looks very complicated!!! Will familiarise myself with it so that I can begin gathering the evidence I need. Thanks again

Wow - thanks for the info. My visa runs out in march 2014 so maybe I will wait until then to apply in my own right as that will have been 5 years in the UK. The only reason we wanted to do it before is because the estate I work for have recently made people redundant. I was worried that if that happ...

Thanks for the reply! That is really helpful - do you know the name of the form? After we are married would I still have to carry on with that or could I get ILR or something else (uk passport)? We plan to go to live in nz in the next few years as we would be married before is there something we cou...
