A US company is about to file H1B for me in the 09 quota (1 april). So, I'll be in H1b process after that. In the meantime, I want to travel to US using Visa Waiver as European citizen for leisure or business while working for my current employer here in Europe. At no point, I am looking to work in ...
I believe once you go through these online, you still need to visit Indian embassy to submit the OCI applicaton. There is no postal application in London as per the official website. Could you please confirm that? Thx!! Following OCI application information might help if you are in the process of ap...
I have just acquired British Citizenship. What are the requirements for naturalisation for my spouse who has been married to me and living in UK for more than 3 years (but not 5 yet). She has had an ILR for for more than a year now. Options: 1. Wait for 5 years to complete and apply on the basis of ...
Just updating on my first post here. I travelled to US for business last month on my new BP and had no problem at all. Just to sum up my everything: Used to hold an Asian passport with valid US visa. Travelled to US frequently using that visa. No entry or visa refusals before. Got the British passpo...
Hi All, I used to hold a non-VWP country's passport and had a US B1/B2 visa stamped on it, which is still valid. I had travelled to US on it quite a few times. Now, I have changed nationality (UK) and come under VWP. Do I need to declare my previous passport (now invalid) at US port of entry? Or can...

My approval letter came in a white envelope and indeed glossy paper inside it. Though, they have put home office's design on the top. So, you can't miss
it.
Letter of invitation from my local council came in brown envelope with ordinary paper.
Got my approval in the post today. Finishing my timeline: (4 yr WP+1 yr ILR) Applied through NCS: Jan 6, 2006 Acknowledgement Letter: Jan 12, 2006 Approval letter received: 18 feb 2006 A quick question. I need to travel to my original home country in 2 weeks and I don't think I have enough time to f...
Found this on eBay. Looks like somebody has come out with exam preparation software with question bank. Though, too late for me as I've already done my test.
I was only looking for legal downloads. Guess I can carry the book around rather than try to scan 30 pages or so.
By the way, the base material is available for download (legally by Gov) on this site. Warning: It's not the book itself.
Thanks Jon, as always a prompt and good reply. Looks like I can safely enter her in my application. Hope NCS person who checks my document knows it as well. a difference ... for example the person who is to be registered as British does not need to pass the Citizenship Test .... your daughter will b...
Is there a pdf download of the life in the UK booklet available? I have the hard copy but wanted to carry soft copy around since I am travelling most days before the test. thanks for the answer!
Hi All, I have a baby who was born here before my ILR. Even though she has been eligible for registration as a British for some time now, I always thought of filing it with my own application for naturalization as British. I am about to file my application (based on ILR+5 yr stay), but when I asked ...
It's not relevant to your question, but you CAN travel to Switzerland without a Visa if you are in UK on a WP or as an ILR holder.
I wonder why not other countires participate in similar programs? Schengen Visa(and others as well) such a hassle.
Think you just want to try out the system for the benefit of this forum. Don't you? I can't believe what you have done. Don't think I have come across somebody else who made it so difficult for himself. Why didn't you go for the ILR in January itself, when you were eligible (entered in Feb 2001, WP ...
Thx John. Somehow I am not very excited about it though. Guess it's just makes it easier to move around jobs I guess. :) I have not yet applied for the kid's British registration. I don't see a point of getting a British passport now for my kid as she is going to travel with one of us anyway. What d...
Congrats! Yea, that's the first thing that comes to mind after you have ILR. But, how about asking few things from your own company? (which you couldn't do earlier as you wanted to stick to it for ILR)
Since I used this site to make sure I had covered everything before I went for my ILR, I think I should write my story here to help others. 1. Applied for ILR in December after a 4 year WP, with one transfer 3 years back with couple of monhts gap to get the transfer done. (So, 1 year WP+3 year WP=4 ...
