get your sister to call the high commission in islamabad and ask them when they will be requesting her passport. you can also email them yourself, quoting reference numbers. email address is on their website.

hi all, I have heard from a friend that he knows someone that was given a long term visa in order to come to the UK from Pakistan in order to care for her sick sister who had mobility problems. I haven't heard of this route ...does anyone have any information as to which type of visa this could be??...

you sent him 1,000,000 rupees for travelling costs??? thats about £10,000!!......what were you planning to do, hire the whole aircraft??? i'm not suprised the ECO raised his eyebrows....if you are paying travelling costs for mother father and sister, this would be about £2,500 maximum in air ticke...

in answer to your questions: 1. yes, you can ask for the visa to be post dated to start on a date in the near future. make sure you make this clear on the application form. 2. as long as they all fulfill all the requirements. you would have to show they all have a reason to go back after their visit...

thanks for the reply John. Her father recently had a heart attack and her mother is diabetic. Could she say she needs to return to care for them?
