the residential requirement is 5 years or if married to a British citizen 3 years. In my opinion the earliest you can apply is May 2013. This is because you cannot take into time when you were in the country whilst in breach of immigration laws (illegally) during the 5(3) years prior to applying (go...

did he go to court for any of these offences? If so did he also receive a fine. The speeding one is it 1 offence or 2. If 1 how fast was he going?

As you say you received ILR in July 2010, you will only be eligible for naturalisation 1 year after which would July 2011 at which time your wife will also be eligible. Unless if you got 'backdated' ILR for HSMP JR route. you should be ok of course to apply for your daughter as well at that time.

1/ I would say 1 form, or if you want 2 that is 1 for you and your wife as payment will bee combined and 1 for your daughter. I would use 1 form 2/ Out of interest what documents are you enclosing? I say this cause naturalisation do not require much supporting documenation. 3/ Thats fine, the acknow...

1/ ILR applications 2 years after granting of spouse visa, ie 8 December 2011, infact 28 days before that date. (note ILR might not exist after July 2011) 2/ I would say April 2013 (5 year anniversary), BUT if you have got citizenship by then, then the day he gets ILR he could apply as he can use th...

Have a look at the Form Set O it tells you what you need to supply to support your application. For WP it does not say that you have to have all P60s,infact it does not even ask for any P60s at all. So if you dont have them dont worry about it and supply alternatives, eg payslips from that period, g...

I think in this case citizen by decent means the person is already British, its just about proving it. All they would neeed to do is to apply for passport.

The 'spousal route' is not citizenship, it route towards citizenship which takes a long time and costs a lot of money

1/ YES you can apply to register your kids 2/ As you have ILR you will not be affected by the 'new citizenship', as long as you apply within 2 years of the new law coming into effect. The last I had was that they were going to implement it in July 2011 meaning you will have until July 2013 to apply.

John, I have read the link that you provided. Correct me if I am wrong. As per my understanding, (3.2.2) someone who got one driving offence e.g. driving on the wrong side, has received one FPN and 3 points on the licence from the court could be considered as minor offence. If more than one FPN, th...

I think a lot will depend on what exactly your friend will be charged with. e.g if he is charged with say 'Dangerous Driving' (DD40), then it will probably be considered a serious offence and of course the sentence. (that is assuming he is convicted) The problem your friend will probably have is tha...

My wife was on a student visa until April 2009 (married 2007). She then got her Work permit dependent visa. When we applied for our ILR, we had been living together already the previous 2 years (+). We all got our ILR on January of this year despite her only actually being on that dependent visa fo...

I am about to apply for ILR, would I be correct in assuming that I can include her...
