Calling family members & Space requirements

Hi Again, There other other issues I am worried about. The fact is that my wife's sister has provided her university with my address details, so I suppose the same will be provided to the Home office for their records? The visitors are planning on visits, albeit short, but almost back to back, all w...

Calling family members & Space requirements

PB,

Thanks for the reply. Going by the same links it says:

A letter of sponsorship giving details of your occupation and salary and how you will provide support and accommodation for the applicant.

Being Indians, we have loads of relatives now who are planning to visit us from India and the US to see the new ba...

Life in the UK

Kumi, I agree with Smit that it was pleasure reading your forum. Of all the mail I read in all these months, for once I could read an intelligent approach mentioned by an educated person. I have heard people say all kinds of things about the UK. I have never read anyone clarify one simple thing, if ...

Student Visa to WP

Yamoo, If you chose the in-country switching option, the EC officer will need to have documentation from your instsuitution for the attendance on your course. They will need some kind of proof that you have attended your course as it is a mandatory requirement. However if you apply from your home co...

Change of Employer Granted

I had recently been granted a WP last year. I decided to change jobs and applied with another company. It took them 7 working days to grant the new WP. The WP was the same position but with the new company. So it was much easier with no searches etc to be carried out. Just the apps. I then took my p...

My dear friend, I can see you are desperate. But given the approach you have made, and we can see, I can tell you for sure it does not sound too hopeful. [......] there are no shortcuts. Contributory JSA

There is something called as Contributory JSA. That can be aaplied for. I do not know the details of that but even I am looking for information on that.

CJSA is the only benefit legally allowed to us, I think.

Moderators, your feedback on this topic will be appreciated.

My wife was out of the UK for a visit to our Home country when I applied for my FLR (IED) Hence they gave her a Visa on a seperate sheet with all her relevant details which is supposedly as good as having one on the passport. But then is it necessary to get it transferred to the passport? Will it af...

Visa Status Change

Good Day to you all, Pls note that the crietria for in-country switching seems defined by HO. But I will only speak out of personal experience. I was doing my industrial placement year, and prior to that I had completed a year as under-grad, and also completed an HND before that in the UK. But the f...

Switching

Nope Mate,

That will be transfer of WP. Which is something much less daunting as compared to the 1st WP application.

Swtiching is something when you go from a one categoryu, say Student / dependent/ etc.

Monthly Payments

Mini,

I suggest you do not mention abt the mortgage. When I first came here 3 yrs back, I had the same declaration. Frankly I do not think it is important anyways. It will complicate matters. They did not aske me to prove whether myself or the bank owned my property.

All the best.

Spouse rights

Hemsatag,
It is a good issue that you raised.

If you go through the law and policy section of the Home Office site, it does tell you how the rules are applied.

The answer is no, the spouse / dependant cannot engage in any business.

The Duration approved for me on the WP is for 60 months, and the WP says that I should next apply for the FLR(IED) for which I have already applied.

Thanks

I am not really bothered about the impact of the HSMP outcome, but bothered about the fact that my degree course is not yet over.
