Re: PR granted now EU settlement under Surinder Singh route!

Does anyone know if we can apply online for the EU Settlement scheme? I know cases based on the surrinder singh route have a paper application but is it possible to do it online now that we have a permanent resident card?

Thanks

Request personal information held in the borders, immigration and citizenship system If he has overstayed, it would be indeed be wiser to wait till at least 10 years after the overstay ended. If refused, you do not get a refund on the naturalisation application fee (~£1200). Thank you for the link!...

Re: PR granted now EU settlement under Surinder Singh route!

Thank you for replying. I know we can apply straight away but he's worried that his 10 year immigration history will affect his application. He's been on an EU visa for 6 years in March 2020. He used to be on a student visa and was curtailed and then went through a few appeals. We then applied for s...

Re: Permanent Residence Card (Surrinder Singh)

Can anyone provide some legal information about being allowed to work while a visa is in process? Or being allowed to work as a spouse of an EEA national in general?

Permanent Residence Card (Surrinder Singh)

Hello We posted my husbands application on the 2nd of October 2019 and payment was taken a few days later. But we haven't heard anything since then. No confirmation email or letter, or biometric details. Is this normal? I can see in the timeline threads most people receive their biometrics letter in...

Re: 2nd EU Referendum petition

The Government has responded to the petition you signed – “EU Referendum Rules triggering a 2nd EU Referendum”. Government responded: The European Union Referendum Act received Royal Assent in December 2015, receiving overwhelming support from Parliament. The Act did not set a threshold for the resu...

Re: Freedom of Information Request help

Thanks ohara, I think I was after the subject access request. I always get confused between the two. I didn't realise I'd need to sign off an ID by a solicitor  that might take a while.. Will they be able to give me information held about my husband regarding his previous applications? I have ...

Freedom of Information Request help

Hi there

I wanted to know how I can request freedom of information from Home office? I've looked it up but of the 28 bodies, I don't know who to write to.

Please can someone advise. Also, does anyone have a sample letter/email I can use.

Thank you!

Re: Changes due to UK split with EU

I'm just in the hope that UK officially leaves after Feb 2019 so we can get the PR submitted in time.

Do you think if we apply early and it gets refused, we would be included in any transitional arrangements? And does EEA4 give rights of appeal? (taking a chance here!)

Re: UK to leave EU - Surinder Singh consequences?

The main ambiguity is what is the current status of the freedom of movement 'during' Article 50 period. It will take 2 years minimum to withdraw from the EU. So does that means during this period of 2 years the status quo of free movement remains? If so, then I guess Surinder SIngh can still be exe...

Re: Changes due to UK split with EU

Graham, I'm in the same boat as you. My husband has a 5 year residence card via SS route and its valid till Dec 19 however he entered in Feb 14 so technically he can apply for PR in Feb 19. I'm also wondering the same thing.. I really hope its not all for nothing. If your salaries are so high, maybe...

Questions regarding FLR(M)

Hello I'm a British citizen and my non-eu husband currently has a 5 year EEA family permit valid til Dec 2019, but I'm not sure if he will be able to apply for PR anymore! So many uncertainties! So I was thinking we should apply for a family visa from now, instead of waiting for his permit to expire...

Re: UK to leave EU - Surinder Singh consequences?

Thank you for the reply. So, where do we stand now? Do you think my husband would have to apply for a spouse visa and wait another 5 years before getting naturalised? In that case, will the 4.75 years of the EU family permit count towards the 5 years lawful residence? We've been through so much and ...

Re: UK to leave EU - Surinder Singh consequences?

Sorry, I'm just a little confused. Would I not be considered an EEA citizen? The family permit says Residence card of a Family Member of an EEA National.

Thanks

I meant in Feb 2019. We returned to the UK in Feb 2014 but received the permit in Dec 2014.

My husband currently has a 5 year EU family permit through the SS route, its valid till Dec 2019 but 5 years complete in Feb. Do you think he will be able to acquire PR through transitional arrangements?
If not, what would be the process after his current family permit?

Surrinder Singh Route For Parents

Hello A friend of mine wants to bring his parents here from Pakistan. He recently became a British citizen, has a pakistani wife and 2 kids. He is an only child and his parents are dependant on him. Would his parents need to join him in the EU country? If not, do they apply for a UK family permit fr...

Re: UK Immigration Status Help!

Also, another point. I had already started working in Ireland since Feb 2013 so technically, when my husbands appeal came to an end, he was still legal due to being in the UK with me. Am I right? Can I fight on these grounds? I want to know if I can email home office and get them to change the mista...
