Re: Submitting your Biometric Residence Permit with applicat

They take your biometric data every time you apply for a new visa/leave to remain. I assume they check the data against your previous application(s) to make sure that you're the same person who applied (and was approved) last time Yes, that makes more sense now. Thanks for clarifying. I have the AN...

Re: Submitting your Biometric Residence Permit with applicat

Did you not have to do this when you applied for indefinite leave to remain? When applying for Indefinite Leave to Remain, I did use the same day service in Croydon, and I do remember sitting with a staff member taking my fingerprints. So, I suppose that was the time my biometrics were taken for my...

Re: Submitting your Biometric Residence Permit with applicat

Thanks alterhase58. I'm a bit confused when you say just make sure you are available for the biometrics a few weeks after your application I first registered my biometrics when I extended my Tier-1 general visa (this is the first instance I received a BRP) as my first Tier-1 general visa was a stamp...

Submitting your Biometric Residence Permit with application

Hi, I am filling out the Form AN to apply for citizenship and have an appointment with the NCS in a couple of weeks. Under Section 6.7, it seems that I need to supply my Biometric Residence Permit with my application if I go through NCS (where they take copies of your documents). I am planning to tr...

Being present in the UK at start of qualifying period

Page 5 of Booklet AN states the following: You must have been physically present in England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands on the day 5 years before the application is received by the Home Office. For example if your application is received on 20/3/2017 yo...

Referees: Criteria to be a referee

Hi all, I am filling out Form AN to apply for naturalisation as a British Citizen. I have a question around the criteria for a referee being eligible. My girlfriend's father works as one of the acceptable professions on the table in this link. https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/att...

Re: Success in Croydon - 4 Sept (with long absence)

Thank to every one in this forum, I have read a lot of posts which helped me a lot. I thought I would post my success story, its pretty straight forward but I know a lot of people are questioning their days out the country as I have a lot in my one visa year I thought it might help. There is a lot ...

It would be the first date you recived entry clearance as a tier 1.
That's what I thought, just wanted to double check.

I'll use my first date (15/10/2008) to answer the rest of the other points based questions as well (qualification, etc)

Thanks.

How to answer Section 9, A7

Hi, I am applying for ILR using the SET (O) form, I am currently a Tier 1 (General). I first got entry clearance for Tier 1 (General) on 15/10/2008. And I got an extension for Tier 1 (General) on 08/07/2011. My leave for Tier 1 (General) will end on 15/10/2013. On Section 9, A7, for which section do...

Re: So you want to pass the Life in the UK test? Then listen

Just sat and passed the Life in the UK test this morning. Here are my thoughts and what you should do to prepare and pass. - When you book the test, do follow the instructions! Bring your proof of identity and proof of address, if you don't bring the right things you won't sit the test. I saw it ha...

Application processing times for extending Tier 1(General)

Hi all, What are the average processing times nowadays by UKBA for an application to extend a Tier 1 General visa if the application was made by post? I hear that ILR applications submitted by post are taking a very long time, my friend waited 7-8 months for the passport to be returned back. Are Tie...

My question is why do the continuous periods overlap each other? If Year 1 ends at 10 November 2011, why does Year 2 start at 11 November 2011? If you count backwards, you are counting 10 November 2011 twice. Are the from and to dates meant to be "inclusive"?

Is anyone able to clarify my original question? The continuous period dates in the document don't make sense, i.e. the number of days in that period is more than 365.

This document is correct. The year when calculating days in always counted like that. Why is financial year in most of the places are from 1st April to 31st March? Forgive me if I'm sounding daft, but if you have a from date of 11 November 2012 and a to date of 10 November 2011, and you still count...

Calculating the 180 days continuous period

Hi there, I plan to apply for ILR in Sep 2013 and I'm creating a spreadsheet to list out all the days that I have been absent from the UK. On page 9 of http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/documents/policyandlaw/modernised/cross-cut/ilr-calculating-continuous/ilr-calculating-continuous.pdf?...
