A different slant..... I have completed about 16 months on a HSMP Visa. So if I qualify for a new tier 1 Visa (not sure what they are called) could I be eligible for ILR in 2 years? This would speed things up for me by 8 or so months.... Won't lots of people on HSMP want to switch to this new visa t...

Having not actually seen it I cannot be 100% sure. But I was told:
Start 10/11/05 and valid for 3 years - in line with my HSMV.

My girlfriend has finally received her visa, after I successfully obtained an extension.

However they backdated her visa by about a month & a half.

Will her ILR clock start from date of issue or when she re-enters the UK?

Student Visa - ILR

Hi,

Someone has told me that after a certain length of time in the UK on a student visa one can apply for ILR. Is this possible & under what circumstances.

The figures on my P60 are fairly nominal ie up to the NI LEL, and only from mid January to March so about £1k. I need to get my application in urgently so won't have time to complete an SA100.

FLR Question Earnings through Limited Company

In applying for FLR 3 year extension, with regard the questions about profession (q's 46-50), I am unsure what to put: I work through a Ltd Co., so am not self employed, rather employed by my Ltd Co. I draw a small wage below NI thresholds & basically live off savings. However there is a reasona...

They have put the application on hold until I renew my visa. Would this be grounds for urgent treatment?

Can the Home Office issue a new visa before the old one has expired or would it be issued with a start date from when the old visa expires.

I think they will consider issuing a visa, providing they are happy with whatever they ask in the interview, purely because they have requested the interview (which they don't have to). Otherwise, they would have rejected the application already. If not, I would be very upset that she had to pay air...

I can't really see any reason why they wouldn't issue a visa based on the timeframe of my visa, so long as the application is valid I would hope a visa would be issued. She is within the rules so should be allowed to come even if it is for only 1 month. I assume the BHC understands the renewal proce...

Unfortunately, it isn't going to be straightforward this time either... I am waiting on the outcome of my girlfriends unmarried partner application (and her arriving in the UK) before applying - to avoid having to pay twice. The dates may be pretty tight, as she has an interview with the BHC in NZ n...

FLR - How late can you leave it to apply?

Hi,

I am coming towards the end of my first year on a HSMV. How close to the expiration date of my current visa can I apply for FLR?

Am I able to send it in just before it expires and rely on having an application with the Home Office as my right to be in the country?

Thanks for your help.

Unmarried Partner Visa - Interview

Hi,

My girlfriend & I recently applied for an unmarried partners visa based on my HSMV. The BHC in New Zealand has asked for her to attend an interview to go through our case.

Has anyone had any experience with one of these interviews or have any idea what might be asked?

Thanks for your help.

As you were probably not (officially) able to work in your profession during the period in question, it may be risky to claim that experience. However, as you are probably aware the WHV rules were relaxed towards the end of 2003 allowing WHV holders to work in any field. So it would probably come do...

She is currently on a 2 year WHV due to expire this June. On her arrival we didn't have a fixed address &am...

You should get 25 points. That's what I claimed, unfortunately they don't tell you what points you receive, just whether you have been granted the visa. So, I can't say if I was awarded these points or not. If you go back through the old posts you will find a few other people who claimed 25, also th...

I sent in my FLR before I had received a decision on my HSMP because my WHV was expiring. In the end there was only a gap of 2 days, between when my WHV expired & when I received the HSMP approval. So it doesn't conclusively answer the much debated question of whether you are able to stay in the...
