Pps yes its required for job and if u are residents in ireland u need to write a latre saying she is living with you in that address and go to pps office 99% she will get pps no if u in dublin . But if u apply out of dublin its much easier then dublin good luck

i call today to help line i speck to lady in there told me my application is waiting for decision its in minister office i ask how long it will take she did not confirm any one help how long it will take now ???

I am still waiting since sep 2011 . still no any progress yet was ask some documents prof address etc back in april 2013 send them next day back but still getting same email replay waiting for gard reports etc no idea whats going on i am very up set as every one get irish passport already expect...

its not free yes i get last years you must pay 300 euro for GNIB card . 3 years
