When my husband and I gave notice at the registry office they took us in a room separately and asked several questions - how long we had known each other, date of engagement, what we each do for work etc. They also asked about my status in the UK, and made a copy of my BRP. I think it is their job t...

Re: FLR(m) requirements

Please check once again in UKNARIC site, whether they consider Master degreee. If I am right they consider Bachelors degree only. Yes, you could be right. I am bit naive in this matter as I come from a place where Bachelors degree is evident when someone holds a Masters. I know an Australian (Shane...

I don't know how to update the skydrive, but just wanted to let everyone know that I got my approval+documents in the post today with BRP to follow. I applied on 27/28 Jan, received approval today, dated 11 March. There is hope yet for UKBA getting things done in a timely fashion! Thanks everyone fo...

@Damanisshallo To be fair, it seems ALL immigration offices treat applicants like cretins and vermin - I'v had a similar experience with US immigration where they take literally YEARS to issue a response to green card applicants. It is incredibly frustrating, but not limited to the UKBA, I'm afraid....

Re: Student Visa

[quote="Damanisshallo"][quote="sarara"]Someone here had directed me to a UKBA webpage a few days ago, to confirm that because my rights as a student are continuing, I am allowed to work park time, until I have a response to my FLR(M) application. The workplace has asked for proof...

Student Visa

Hi all, I have applied to change my status from Student to FLR(M) - I applied in January and did the biometric mid Feb, so don't expect a response from UKBA anytime soon. However, I have been offered a part-time job (18 hours a week). Someone here had directed me to a UKBA webpage a few days ago, to...

Working while waiting for Approval/BRP

I have applied to change my status from student to FLM(R) based on marriage to a British Citizen. In the meantime, am I allowed to work part time? My understanding is that my legal status remains the same until my application for change is approved or refused. Under my previous (current?) status I a...
