Re: Did IHS increase approved now?

Thank you secret.simon . is it formally approved now? Yes, it was formally approved on Monday (Paragraph 7(2) of the Votes and Proceedings) . It will now be made (signed by a minister) formally and will come into effect 21 days after the date it is made. It's not on the legislation.go.uk website, s...

When and how did you acquire your British citizenship? Was it before or after the birth of the children?

Do you have sole custody of the children?

Re: [HELP] HMPO refuting citizenship decision by UKVI as supporting evidence for passport application

My first application that was rejected did include all the documents you've mentioned actually. I gave them: - My birth certificate (UK) - My grandfather's naturalisation certificate - to show he was naturalised as able to pass on his British citizenship to my father - My grandfather marriage certi...

Re: Maintaining ILR active

ILR doesn’t expire ILR lapses automatically if the person stays outside the UK for any continuous period of two years or more. And it can be cancelled if the Immigration Officer forms the view at the border that the ILR holder is only visiting the UK and not residing here. ILR is meant for residenc...

Re: I am going to get ILR, but want to know about my depandent VISA for my wife and son

both wife and son should extend in the UK before their leave expires Just to add, the extension to the visa will need to be done while your son is in the UK (i.e. an extension can't be done from outside the UK) and keep in mind that he can't leave the UK until the application is decided (because le...

Not sure if just the British passport by itself is sufficient. You may want to have ready other proof of your three years residence in the UK, ideally from other government bodies, so P60s/self-employment tax records/benefit correspondence/school or university records (depending in when your three y...

Re: Apply British citizenship without getting British passport

There are two separate questions here. (a) Can the child register as a British citizen and not have a British passport, but a CoE-RoA? - Yes, so long as the child is entitled to a non-British passport. (b) If the child registers as a British citizen, can they also retain Chinese citizenship? - That ...

Re: Did IHS increase approved now?

it looks like it they didn't agree on it on first sitting Where did you get that from? The Delegated Legislation Committee only met once, yesterday, and approved it without dissent. The Statutory Instrument was introduced in October, but no progress was made because of prorogation and State Opening...

Re: [HELP] HMPO refuting citizenship decision by UKVI as supporting evidence for passport application

I think (not sure) that adding the Form NS letter muddied the waters, confused the caseworkers and they didn't look at the additional evidence. I've also provided all the documentation that they would require to prove my father's citizenship directly (i.e., my grandfather's naturalisation certificat...

Re: Potential reduction in Minimum Income Requirement increase from £38700 to £29000

As expected, the Delegated Legislation Committee approved the Statutory Instrument (without dissent). It will likely be formally approved by the House either tomorrow or Monday and the increase will take effect 21 days after the approval (technically, 21 days after it is signed by the minister, so t...

Are there no possibilities given the fact neither of us have intentions to living in the UK as of now?
No.

One of the requirements is literally the intention to reside in the UK, in addition to the absence requirements, physical presence requirement, etc.

Well, you have got most of the answers in the refusal letter. Demonstrate that the rest of the family is in Pakistan and that he regularly visits them and has strong ties with them (attending family functions, etc). With regards to the financial side of things, tell him to make sure to have a separa...

You can give it a shot. It's your money at risk. You don't get a refund if the registration is refused. There are many unknowns to your friend's story. For how long have they been in the UK? Was there a second parent or was your friend with sole responsibility? Did the second parent have ILR? etc. W...

I can apply directly for my kids naturalisation now itself, or do I need for the Mrs and kids to get ILR first which we will apply in July’24. What were the strong ties to his country of habitual residence that he demonstrated in his application?

It is not for you to apply for his visit visa. He will need to reapply.

Re: NHS invoice after naturalisation

I agree with the advice above about speaking to a solicitor, because this is really not immigration law at all. Your child had no visa and in a sense, he was not legally resident in the UK at all while he underwent NHS treatment. Legal residence requires some form of either citizenship or other lega...

Re: NHS invoice after naturalisation

When was the child's registration certificate received? Your naturalisation is immaterial. The child, not having paid any IHS charge, is the person who incurred the NHS charges. It is the child's lack of immigration status that is pertinent, not your citizenship. We got our ILR in May 2021 If you go...

Re: Council tax for students

In the above case, your sister, as council ...
