taikoo, I am a fellow October 2004 applicant, also waiting in the backlog queue. You are not alone. Most of the October 2004 applicants seem to be hanging out on the HSMP-Services.co.uk website. That is why we don't see them on here so much Nonetheless, those who applied in October 2004 still wait....

Frankly, I'm keeping my eyes on the North. Looks like they've got the incentive and are very interested in helping out some of us talented/skilled types.

arif6, I think that an agency may be able to submit an app to the HO on the same day. Sure, sounds good. However, the part about the 'Home Office dealing with [the app] on the same day' sounds dubious. There is now a waiting queue for HSMP processing seven months long. Some of these applicants no do...

Benadie,

If you get that job offer, get it in writing. Make sure you fax that offer letter to the HO and get your app into the Urgent queue. If you make it to the Urgent queue, you will no doubt be put in the very front of the line (Due to your app date)!

What is the exact HO wording on the part about the letter headed reference letters? I mean, how did they word this in their letter to you?

Paki,

Just to confirm: The application from November 7th is a reapply, correct? You had originally applied sometime prior to October 11 (September?), with a rejection on October 19th. You'd sent the rejection for a review on October 20th.

Zeke, No, unfortunately have not heard anything more on this article. However, there is a new article out on the Work Permit site news page dated 10 December, 2004. Article is titled, 'UK - Conservatives to overhaul immigration policy'. I did a little more research out there on the Internet, surfing...

You are not considered resident until the ILR approval. I pray this is not correct. So many things in life depend on 'residency' status -- mortgages, accounts with banks, employment, taxes, etc. Was kinda hoping we would become 'residents' after a certain amount of time of residing within the count...

Think it all depends on where you are from. To me, the British are a lot friendlier than people on west coast of US. And I found the Brits up north (Liverpool, Leeds, Manchester, Harrogate) to be some of the warmest, caring people I've ever met outside of Canada & Texas. Of course, I myself am d...

Wow, hard to believe someone not knowing a lawyer is a graduate level job.

Are you under 28? If you are 28 or over, don't think 3 years of graduate work qualify for any points (Unless you also happen to have a PhD). You may want to check this out, just to confirm.

Thank you, Zeke. That was very helpful. I don't think you're crazy to not want to jump the queue. My biggest concern with the processing is actually not how long it will take, but with the fact that we do not really KNOW how long it will take. Without the ability to predict the date, it is hard to c...

Regarding the time issue, it also benefits them much more to go slowly, though at the rate at which they currently are processing, it will soon make much more sense to apply for a Canadian or Australian immigration process. One main reason why a lot of us applied for this is simply because it takes...

Checkmate,

No, I'm not sure about anything. I felt more sure about processing times and required documentation when I turned in my application in than I do now.

June Applicants - Please Respond

Since we only have two more processing days in May (May 28 & 31), it is almost time to start hearing from our June applicants. Well, June? Are you still out there? Paying attention? We'd like to hear about the status of your apps, and any additional feedback/information you receive from the HO, ...
