It seems not for entry. In Immigration Rules 298, it says "Requirements for indefinite leave to remain in the United Kingdom as the child of a parent, parents or a relative present and settled or being admitted for settlement in the United Kingdom". So, this is little confusing. As an exa...

ILR - SET(LR) - Questions

In Immigration Rules, I found some parts say "being admitted for settlement" while some other parts say "is being granted indefinite leave to remain". Can anybody tell me what the difference is between these two expression? If I am applying for my indefinite leave to remain and t...

Re: Can child aged over 18 be granted ILR as dependent?

My daughter is now 17 years old and has been my dependent since 2005. I will apply for my ILR under long residence before next year. I believe she will become 18 when my application is approved considering the long processing time. So, my question is if she is eligible to apply ILR as a child of se...

Is SET(F) applicable for a dependent child who is over 18 years old, i.e. as a adult dependent relative of the settle person? Also, as I know, SET(F) is applicable for a dependent child who is under 18 years old. But, what will happen if the child becomes 18 years old before the main applicant's app...

The former Guide SET(O) implied that they will normally wait until the outcome of your Long Residence application before deciding on the dependants' application. The appeal may consider the refusal as premature, unfair and unreasonable. Thanks vinny, I thought so too and I wrote to the case worker ...

Yes I think so too. She will get a visa for 2.5 months and after that will have to renew for a further 2.5 years making up the 5 year requirement and then she will be able to apply for ILR. For all steps you will need to meet the new financial requirements and the standard requirements. No, this is...

It's hard to say, but the transitional rules have only mentioned If an applicant was granted an initial period of leave to enter or remain as a PBS dependant before 9 July 2012 but has not lived with their PBS partner for the required 2 years in the United Kingdom at the date their partner is apply...

Will the old rules until July of 2012 apply to this occasion

My wife had obtained her T4 dependent visa on 2005 and extended it on 2007. But she didn't stay in the UK because of personal issue. Her leave was expired on 2009 and had no valid leave to remain / enter any more since then. She is not in the UK and had never applied for a new visa since 2009. She i...

Further to my question earlier, I got another question as below: When I am eligible to submit my application for the ILR under 10 years long residence, my visa will be expired after one month. I believe the decision will not be made in such a short time. So, how about my daughter's visa as she canno...

Can my daughter get her ILR by this way?

I got a question. I'll apply for my ILR through 10 years long residence. I have a dependent daughter with me and I have sole responsibility on her. She is 17 years old when I submit my application for my ILR but will be 18 years old when I get my ILR considering the long processing time. So, can she...

If your only dependants are children under 18 and they do not qualify under the long residence rules, they may apply for indefinite leave to remain as a child of a per- son present and settled in the UK on form SET(F) . Each child would have to apply and pay separately. Any child over 18 wanting to...
