You always have the option of sending it by post (though you may want to do it today itself and use RoyalMail One day special delivery) to beat the price increase. Ofcourse, you would need to live without your passport and BRP for a while, which is the trade-off.

usually the collection timing is the afternoon, and submission is in the morning...so this approach may not work..but please check the latest opening hours/time at the VFS you plan to use if there is an overlapping window. I applied under Section 1(3) for my kid and I did only send a photocopy of mine and my partner's BRP.
No original BRP was sent.
My application was approved. No issues.
