Maintenance required for main migrant too?

Hi guys, Reading this thread, I am a bit confused. Does this mean that the main migrant who is already in the UK will also have to show maintenance fund of £900 for 90 days? I thought if the dependant applies from home country, he/she will have to show atleast £600 for 90 days in either own account ...

Working in Gibraltar on Tier 1 visa

Hello Members, I have two questions - 1. I wanted to if it is possible to work in Gibraltar with a Tier 1 General visa or not? Gibraltar is a Crown Dependency, as is the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. This means that they are able to pass their own laws and have their own currency but are stil...

Hello Members, My wife is on a PSW visa till December 2013. She is working part time and doing PhD part time. She intends to switch to full time PhD after December. Hi Fomsand1,
Yes I am claiming both salaried income from full time employment and self-employment. I needed to be in the income range of £50-£55k.

I applied by post.

Please advise.

Checks on self-employment income and tax

Hello Members, I want to know what kinds of checks are carried out by UKBA to verify self-employment information? I have applied for my extension. Other than the accountant's letter, I have also provided invoices (clearly mentioning the name of person to contact, phone, address, email etc.), contrac...

Date of posting and leave expiry

Hello members,
My Tier 1 General expires on 5 April. I have to post my application on 4 April with next day delivery. Is it valid or will they count it as late application if they receive it on the same day as my expiry?

Thanks.

self employment earning - revenue or profit?

Hello Members, Is it true that UKBA considers gross salary before tax of full time employment, but net profit (not revenue) from self-employment? My earning (revenue) from self-employment is a mere £6014.55 and expense of £311 with a net profit of £5624.55. This is taking my total from full time plu...

Also be careful about your client asking to pay through a person instead of a company since it might look dodgy for Home office but HRMC does not care. Thank you karg_g for your reply. I understand now that you will actually need to have received the payment in your bank account - no two way about ...

Receiving payments from self-employment Tier 1 General

Thanks for your reply ram80. I have already sent out the invoice to the client but they have clearly said that they cannot pay it within March due to legal complications. However, they will request anyone in UK personally to pay me on their behalf as I have an urgency. Is there any rule that all ear...

Receiving payments from self-employment Tier 1 General

Hello everyone, I was expecting a payment from an overseas company this month for a consultancy project I have delivered to them. However due to financial regulations in that country in terms of letting foreign currency going out - they will not be able to pay me anytime sooner i.e. this month. Howe...
