You could try opening an account with PSU banks like SBI, BoB there in the UK. The addresses can be found on their websites. Maybe someone who has experience on this one can add his/her suggestion. Also, take on an international credit card and an internet (third party funds transfer) capable saving...

' Unmarried ' status cannot in any way hamper yr entire 4 year HSMP process. The Home Office certainly recognises an unmarried, skilled partner for points and co-habitation. For proof details, please read the HSMP guidance here: http://www.workingintheuk.gov.uk/working_in_the_uk/en/documents/all_for...

The ' drift ' that one gets from reading the HSMP guidelines is : It is alright if the spouse comes in later provided you have her/him beside you at the end of the first year (read extension). After all, you gained valuable points for a qualified and/or productive spouse. In return for points, they ...

Wazir Saab, It is this vague sentence on this link that I am worried about : " From 1 November 2004, applications under the Highly Skilled Migrant Programme will be subject to payment clearance. " http://www.workingintheuk.gov.uk/working_in_the_uk/en/homepage/schemes_and_programmes/hsmp.html

Do check on ICICI BANK as well on this issue. I was given a similar tale by their call center dunces. One more tip : SBI and other public sector banks have branches in the UK. They can easily issue bank drafts acceptable by HSMP. Wish I had taken this hard way out and not the unsmart plastic card on...

My two bit: Take yr chances for an under 28 review/ reconsideration if u cannot prove yrself on over 28 criteria. Push thru fresh evidence if u need to. It just abt might pass muster. You have nothing to lose ( assuming u can't make it on over 28 ). In all this, u are not bending any law. Ensure how...
