My friend is a Lady !

My friend is a lady and the mother of the child.
She will be there in the UK with her child. It is the husband's parents that she wants to bring over as she currently lives in a joint Indian family and the child is attached to his paternal grandparents.
Sorry, I did not clarify this earlier.

Spouse's Parents ?

One of my friends had a query: My spouse is an HSMP dependent and will not accompany me to the UK. Will come in maybe later. However, I need to get my spouse's parents to the UK as my young son is very attached to them. Is is possible to get them over? Has anyone been successful in a similar effort...

Work Permit & ILR

I gather one can go in for "Indefinite Leave to Remain", post 5 years on a work permit. Does that mean one can therafter work for any company whatsoever ? Is this like the US Green Card ? [ Once u get it, u have "permanent residency", you can "work for anyone" and virt...

From the policy ....

Wazir saab, I agree with what you say. I was referring to Para 45, Page 26 of the HSMP Policy Guidance (Over 28), which states under "Partners' Achievements": In order to score in this category, you must provide evidence that your spouse, civil partner, unmarried or same sex partner is edu...

Appending Question

There is an appending question to the one I already asked .... I have claimed points for my spouse. The approval letter did not mention as to whether the points were finally allotted under the same. I remember to have read somewhere in the rules/ policy earlier that the spouse has to necessarily acc...

There is no specific rule that can guide us here. Its up to the case worker's discretion. I would say coming in 3-4 months late should be ok as along as you can find a job soon and be economically active. Any later and you may not get the 3 year extension but a one year one. No idea about the 4 yea...

How many months are enough for 3 year extension ?

If one were to arrive late on one's initial (1 year) HSMP visa, how many months would prove enough to get the 3 year extension (or is it 4 years now with the 5 year to FLR rule) ?
Any experiences ?

Johny, cld u possibly shed some light

I was talking abt MSc in business areas like Marketing, HR, Finance ....
This is the perception most UK recruiters seem to carry. I was told this by a professor of a Top 5 business school in Britain, albeit in private.

Of course, Johny if he is into it already will be able to shed more light.

Definitive answer

IT will be better than marketing as it is one of the "in-demand" professions and most Indians are recognised for it.
I had a similar dilemma. IT worked.

?!

Johny,

A trifle late to yr post .....
But truly, this sounds strange for MSc is an inferior qualification to an MBA in the UK.

BTW, are u into it already?

If you hit 200K pa, then its time to retire  You are kidding. I'd like to know how many programmers earn £50k+ in non-financial companies in London. Seems the pay in London is lower, and the expense is higher compared with New York. Correct me if I'm wrong. Very likely. My research seems to be...
