Re: ILR application eligibility date

I have already gone through the document and anything else available on the net but haven't found any definite answer for my situation hence asking for an opinion here.

ILR application eligibility date

Hi All, Apologies if a similar question has been asked before but mine is a peculiar situation. Hence wanted an expert comment. I came to UK for the first time in Mar 2008 on Tier II ICT and left in Mar 2010 but then came back in June 2012 and moved to Tier II General in May 2015. As per rules, I sh...

Re: Apr 14 Change in Rules - Switching from T2 ICT to T2G

Thanks Manci for the response. It didn't strike me that the 5 year qualifying period could start 6 months before June 2012 because of the 180 day max absence rule. This means I would be eligible for ILR in Jan 2017 and not wait till June 2017. Good point! Regarding your advice about taking confirmat...

Re: Apr 14 Change in Rules - Switching from T2 ICT to T2G

Dear all, First of all a big thanks to all the contributors who are resolving the queries of confused individuals like me. You guys are doing a great job! Coming to my question - I came to UK for the first time in Mar 2008 on Tier 2 ICT. After staying for 2 years, I went out of UK in Mar 2010 and re...

H1B Cap Exempt time limit

Dear Experts, My employer had applied for a H1b visa in the year 2008 which was accepted but I never got the visa stamped nor traveled to USA ever. I checked with my employer and they say that I can still apply under the cap exempt category since my H1b was already approved earlier. However, they ha...

Re: Mum's general visit visa refused - Is it worth appealing

I agree that appeal rights are residual and limited. Not debating that point. My point was for a family visitor visa, the right to appeal has been removed completely while for general visit visa, you can still appeal although on very limited grounds which I have already mentioned in my first post!

Re: Mum's general visit visa refused - Is it worth appealing

As per my understanding, the right to appeal has been removed for family visitor visas while we applied under General visit visa so technically we could still appeal against the decision although I agree that this might be more or less futile. Secondly regarding your point of a 6 month visa not nece...

Re: Mum's general visit visa refused - Is it worth appealing

Thanks for your replies. She returned from UK on the 1st of Dec last year and had plans of traveling on the 8th of June again so it was more than a 6 months break. I think the 6 months within a 12 month period is more a rule of thumb and not necessarily a sole basis for rejection. Would it be fine i...

Mum's general visit visa refused - Is it worth appealing?

Dear Experts! I am on a Tier-2 ICT Visa valid till Jan 2016. My mother applied for a 6 month visitor visa but the same has been rejected. She was granted the visitor visa last year but we had mentioned that she is planning for a week's stay in a hotel. In the end she ended up staying for 5 months bu...

Hi, My wife gave birth to a baby few months ago here in UK and now we are planning to apply for his dependent visa here. However, my wife needs to travel urgently to India in April for her medical treatment. So we wanted to know if it is ok to apply for the baby's dependent permit after travelling t...
