Dear AlexCh,

If you look at the new extension form on the Home Office website, you will see that you still can claim points for education. Hence there is no need to be under 32 at your original HSMP date. The application form does not make any reference to the statement quoted by the article.

It would affect when she is eligible for naturilasation. She is only allowed to be out of the UK for 270 days in total for the preceding three years, if she wanted to apply for citizenship.

Dear Latte, It appears that the HO has the info regarding your application in 1998 on your file and are just making life difficult for you. I would suggest you request a copy of your HO file under the Data Protection Act. You may find all that is needed in that, including the post office receipt the...

Dear Sharareh-P,

April 2006 was when they changed the qualifying period for ILR from 4 to 5 years. It appears that the case of the African person you are describing is due to the 4 year rule still being in force at the time of the application.

Dear Sharareh-P, I am not going to attempt to answer all your questions, but from what you are saying it appears that you were on a TWES (training and work experience scheme) visa from April 2002. That does not count as a work permit and cannot be used towards your 5 years for ILR. Your ILR clock st...

The 14 year rule does not even require her to have been legally in the UK for the previous 14 years, as long as she has been in the U...

I had to get a "Power of Attorney" certified around three years ago. The notary charged £42 + VAT. Thus it isn't cheap and it would be handy to know if it can be done for free through another avenue.

Why do you not send your qualifiactions to NARIC to get them assessed?

Then include their certificate with your new application. If NARIC deems your degree to be UK equivalent then surely they won't be able to refuse you again?

Just a thought
