Re: ILR - UK Entry Date

Thank you for a nippy response.

Just a follow on query, does that mean that when we fill "Have you previously lived in a country outside the UK including your country of birth" we would also go from her birth date upto October 2013 instead of June 2007.

Thanks again

Hi, We are in the process of applying SET(O) ILR application and am confused about one field in particular the UK Entry Date. Hello! My wife got a PBS dependent visa in Oct 2013, before that she had a Tier 2 work permit. Post extension it is valid till Apr 2018. Re: Tier 1 Dependent or ILR

Thanks for the prompt reply.

Isn't there a rule which says that if the main applicant is on ILR the dependent has to get a FLR. Sorry I cannot back this statement up with any link but some of the discussions tend to intend that.

Following is a timeline with events: We have been living together since Dec-09, I was on Tier 1 and she was on Tier 2 My wife got a Tier 1 dependent in Oct-13, so I was on Tier 1 and she was on Tier 1 Dependent I go...

PBS Dependent or FLR(M)

Hello, My wife switched from Tier 2 to Tier Dependent in October 2014, which means she has to spend 5 years as a PBS dependent before she becomes eligible for ILR. Her Tier 1 Dependent is valid till May 2015. I recently received my ILR. Now when we apply for her extension I understand that we would ...

Re: Change of immigration status

Thanks Macro_Run and iworker.
I did call the immigration services and they confirmed that the visa will still be valid and her entry would be subject only to immigration checks (i.e. they meant employment et. al.)

Many thanks

Re: Tier 1 Dependent to ILR

Great! Many thanks mate!

One parting question:

Once I get an ILR and we have a child in the UK, will the child be considered a British citizen even though ONLY one of the parent has an ILR and the other is a PBS dependent?

Re: Tier 1 Dependent to ILR

But once I get an ILR and then a passport, how can she be a PBS dependent.
Her visa expires in March 2015, what sort of application do I make then to get her an extension.
The link in the response is for a Tier 1 dependent.

Sorry if am being naive here.

Re: Tier 1 Dependent to ILR

Thanks Vinny. You are really prompt. Can you possibly suggest the best course of action in our case. Based on my understanding this is how it will roll for us: 1) I make an individual ILR for myself in July 2014. She continues being a Tier 1 dependent till March 2015. 2) In March 2015 she uses FLR-M...

Re: Tier 1 Dependent to ILR

Thanks for your response Vinny.

A question arises though, now that the 5 years rule is applicable does it start from the time the dependent visa was granted or the 3 years before that we were together can also be counted as a part of that 5 years.

Thanks for your reply Vinny. She has never been my PBS dependent which means that the duration applicable to us is 5 years. A few more questions. Please bear with me:- 1) We have started living together since Dec, 2010 but she moved to UK one year before though we were living in different cities. So...
