Re: Italy Schengen visa - Indian couple - questions

Hi,

I had booked my flights in advance.

I had also made hotel bookings, but unlike flights, they are fully refundable so no worries there.

Re: Italy Schengen visa - Indian couple - questions

I have been granted Schengen visa for 3 months and hence replying to my own questions.. 1. Marriage cert need not be apostilled while applying by paying the full fees. This is only required when applying as a family member of a EEA national. 2. Hotel bookings need not be fully paid in advance. A can...

Re: Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI)

I submitted on the 1st of December and I had to give only 2 photos.

Actually only one application form is taken by them. In my case the photo on the other application form was removed and pasted to the first application.

Wiki: How to create a pdf file to upload for OCI application

Creating the master jpeg file 1. Open MS Paint. If not sure how, open Windows -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Paint. Stretch the image borders to create a huge working space so that we can paste multiple documents in the white area. Save this image as a jpeg or jpg. Filling the master file with d...

Re: ILR Salary Requirements

Yes. 12 months is the maximum consecutive period you can show earnings for. It is up to you to choose which ones you want to show. In fact a friend of mine had to qualify just based on the Dividends though he had salary for all the months. Cant remember the exact scenario though. And since you have ...

Re: ILR Salary Requirements

I am no expert in this area.. just my humble 2 paise worth.. I feel you should be alright. 1. You qualify for the points even without taking into account the Salary for Nov 14. 2. The accountant mentions that this was a mistake but has been taken care of. 3. You still are omitting the entry to be on...

Re: Contractor Accountancy for ILR success

Don't worry. The accountants who deal with day-to-day issues do not have professional qualification. They do have certified accountants belonging to a professional body in their head office. They will scrutinise the paperwork and sign and stamp the paperwork on behalf of the accountants. I was in th...

@kaymadi : Please be informed that the picture you upload will get merged with the pdf application form. Same is the case with your signature image.

You will have to take a print-out of that and submit. If the hard copy photo is too different from what you uploaded, you might be asked few questions.

AnujMor,

Regarding pt.3 about the family details, I feel you might be looking at the wrong application form. There are two versions one for children born in India and one for those born outside. Are you looking at the one which says 'at a consulate'??

I went through the same experience. There was a young girl at the reception who made sure I wasn't seen by any of the banking officers. I got pissed off and thought there was no way out of this. But there are two ways this can be done. 1. Visit a branch that is close to the UKBA offices. They unders...

Couple of things to think about.. 1. You yourself do not have leave to remain. You may not be seen as someone who can accommodate and maintain another person. 2. The outcome of your application for extension is not guaranteed and hence may not be taken as evidence to help her application. 3. Though ...

Part payment query

Has anyone made split payments using a card ? For example, instead of making 1920 & 15xx as two payments for the main + dependant, have you done 3000 ( or similar) and the rest as another payment ? I nearly have the complete amount (3200 instead of 3500) as credit limit on one card and can use t...

They could have directly asked if we would be interested in waiting for 7 days for the decision if we were to be given GBP 100 as incentive.

Had a similar experience while taking the ferry across the English channel to Calais.

No one checked/ stamped the passport while entering France whereas UKBA did it on return.

Had the same/similar experience but do not know the impact.

HSBC Savings account must be fine from what I have read from this forum. It is not a deposit and is liquid.

However I can confirm this since I will be using the same set of accounts to get my extension this Friday. Will post my experience on the PEO sticky. Please look out for it.
