I think you are getting confused as the Home Office now issues spousal visas for 27 months. As Lesley15 has said you apply for your ILR 28 days before the end of the 2 year period from date of entry into the UK which she correctly stated is the 8 november 2010 But I am sure that I can apply in Jan ...

If he wants to do his military service and keep his Korean nationality, then he should do it and risk losing ILR. When he comes back after two years, as long as he can prove that he is coming back to settle in the UK or he has strong family ties here, there is a chance he can be granted a visa as a ...

Re: Advice needed

Your plan will be very expensive, but it is a solid backup. Best/cheapest scenario: Your husband gets another job soon and you both get ILR in July 2010. But if you go the Tier 1 route: You get Tier 1. Husband gets new job and ILR in July. You can switch to spouse visa from Tier 1 while in UK this y...

I am currently on Spouse Visa under UK rules and regulations. While on spouse visa - if you get separated from your wife, she can inform the UKBA of withdrawal of support. Even if she doesn't - after the two years, you can't go on to the next stage of settlement under this route. While on Probation...

You should email the caseworker who handled your SAR. Could be just an oversight on their part. Write your SAR Ref. number in the subject line. Ask for the missing files. firstname.lastname@ukba.gsi.gov.uk Mine came in two sets - first set was like what you described (very interesting to get casewor...

Great idea and I support it. I can recommend the Cambridgeshire County Council. Group ceremonies are in Cambridge on Tuesday afternoons (2pm start). They get fully booked a month in advance. According to their website, private ceremonies are £100 to £160. I phoned on 11 Jan this year. They answere...

That case is different from yours. Poster's wife had a dependent visa (though for less than 2 years). Poster and wife applied to get ILR together. They would have used Set(O) because poster had Tier 1. In your case, you want to know if your husband can get ILR based on marriage to a British citizen ...

On the citizenship application form they ask for the date you were given your ILR. Do you put the date on the ILR in your passport, or the one on the letter showing the backdated date?

Thanks guys

I would declare it if I were you. Explain that it was not your car and you didn't know tax was unpaid. It does sound lame, but it is the truth and they may sympathise. If not, they will reject it and you wait five years. This is the worst that can happen if you disclose the information. If you hide ...

1. Get a police report of the lost passport. 2. Inform your embassy and get a new passport from them. 3. Inform UKBA and ask how to get a new ILR stamp. Take it easy, yours is not the first lost passport and these can be replaced. But do the above ASAP, especially informing your embassy and UKBA, be...

Re: CAN I APPLY FOR ILR THIS APRIL 2010?

There are gaps between your visas (30 days in Aug 2005 and 27 days in Sept 2007). Were you in the UK during these gaps? Was there an application with UKBA for FLR during these gaps? Were you employed in the UK during these gaps? If the answer is "no" to any of those questions, you may have...

You cannot appeal the ILR refusal without any papers from your ex-husband. I agree the best thing to do is get a spouse visa (with your current husband). From my friends' experiences, it takes a while for the British consulates to process spouse visas (>1 month), interviews are required. I don't kno...

Nope, all that should be fine. If you have all P60s and employer letters, you don't need all the previous years' payslips. Just the ones from the last 12 months.

Good luck.

get payslips and letters from both employers.

employment gap doesn't matter. but how are your absences from the UK (trips abroad)? should be under 180 days total (and no single stretch over 90 days) over 4 years. unless they were business trips.
