Maybe it's a good idea to send the approval letter from your first HSMP extension if you still have it, but that's all. They will check your records anyway from the last visa they issued on your passport.

Personally, I bought most of my flights online so I had an email record of departures/arrivals. I could also access my past flights with the airline or mileage program. For instance, if you flew with Cathay, you can check your Asia Miles statements/online account.

Good luck.

bani: if I understand you correctly, the HSMP Forum JR held that conditions under which HSMP applications prior to Nov 2006 could not be altered, and this includes the criminality threshold for ILR. Is that right? Yes, that is right. All original (pre-2006) conditions that pertain to HSMP extension...

Hello dev, I have been staying under a rock and just going by the period of the LLR I was granted (2 and 3 years) but the original approval letter I got is dated April 5, 2006 so I must have applied before April 3, 2006 (unfortunately I have lost the original acknowledgement letter). In which case ...

Unfortunately, you'll have to go with a second extension. AFAIK, you will follow the criteria used in your previous extension. But that may change. Hello Bani, I entered in 2008 and it should ideally expire in 2010 but I went ahead of 5 months for my extension (3 years). But since I entered UK on 35...

IMHO, the visa is legal. The expiry date is due to a mistake, but it is official unless revised/corrected. It will not make the OP an overstayer. It's as legal as getting the shorter visa by their mistake. You still have to abide by the stamped expiry date, rather than rationalise that you should ha...

Hello all, I initially entered UK in 2008 on HSMP visa for 2 years, extended for 3 years period to Tier-1 in 2009. Did you enter in 2008 or 2007? (otherwise, how would you complete 2 years by 2009) What date did you apply for HSMP? The answer makes a big difference whether you will need a second ex...

Only reason to switch is if you are in any danger of losing your job before Aug 2011. You may stay in the UK on Tier 1 but with Tier 2 you have to leave or get sponsored for another job very quickly. But the previous advantage that HSMP had over the Work Permit (thanks to the wording of one section ...

Because you are covered by HSMP Judicial Review, it does not matter how much you are earning as long as you are employed – you are economically active. Also, you are allowed to have gaps in employment, so do not worry about your 2 year gap. It is essential to provide your P60s from 2006 to 2008, a...

As long as you are employed (and meet the residency requirements), because you are covered by HSMP Judicial Review it doesn't matter what kind of job it is or how little you earn, you will be eligible for ILR. However, it makes your case more straightforward if you are permanently employed and conti...

It used to be 180 days absence in 4 years; so the unwritten limit is 225 days in 5 years.

Travel for work is exempt but you must keep a record of this and have your UK employer verify this.

I wouldn't worry because you are covered by 2 HSMP JR's that stipulate that no future changes should affect your 5 year clock and towards settlement. It is the other categories (WP, long residence, etc.) that are vulnerable.

Your gap is 30 Nov 2008 to Feb 2009. You had no status in the UK, you weren't employed by either UK company or paying tax during that time.

So your 5 year clock restarted in Feb 2009. Unfortunately, you can't spin this any other way. You would waste your money by applying for ILR at this time.
