mr_simpson, have you registered the existence of the business with HMRC? If not you need to do that without delay. Also, disagreeing with askmeplz82, do open a Business Bank Account. There are many offers from banks and such an account will probably not cost you a penny, for say 18 or 24 months, but...

Using your numbering :- No Is that the question? I have just checked and cannot find a question with that wording. In any case the status of the child is irrelevant. It is the status of the claimant that counts. Hint ... do not confuse the term "public funds" and the word "benefits&qu...

Zoz, if you intend to travel internationally you might be eligible to apply for a Certificate of Travel.

In any case, don't worry if you have no "in-date" passport when you apply for your ILR. But it might assist if you can provide proof of the inability to get a new passport.

Traveller4ever, I do not see a problem. Your wife has no doubt applied for a Schengen visa from the country which will be the main destination, but that does not mean that she first needs to enter "Schengen-land" in that country. For example, if the main destination was Italy, but the way ...

I find this very unsatisfactory as regards what UKBA is doing here. I think the wording of 7.5.g is pretty clear and if they really do not mean to have a reference to 15 months in that, but instead really mean to have a reference to 18 months, then they really do need to change the guidance they giv...

You tell me! You have not given us enough details about whether the eligibility conditions are met. You are focussing here on just one aspect, but what about all the other conditions?

So badmaash you are wondering if she would get Carer's Allowance? Have you checked the eligibility conditions?

Note that as she has been living in Bulgaria the "have been in Great Britain for at least 2 of the last 3 years" condition does not apply.

Use the Tax Credits Calculator.

Appreciate that the Government is far less generous with Tax Credits than used to be the case, even a couple of years ago.

You do not know the address where you stayed? Or even the town? Have you done even a basic search for the family?

So you had a student visa, enabling you to study in the UK?

Why can't you contact the family you stayed with during the holidays? Are you saying that they have moved, and you don't know where they are now?

Yes, but as you have just posted in another topic :- I'm afraid many HMRC decision makers are ignorant of the rules. -: and it entirely possible that someone would have got incorrect advice when phoning. The lack of NI for your wife does not prevent a claim being made, but the Tax Credits office may say otherwise, but they would be wrong. The legislation was changed a few years ago. But before you submit a claim, have you us...

If they really mean 18 months rather than 15 months, they need to say so.

No one is denying that you have been in the UK for over 5 years. The query is whether you are able to prove you have been exercising Treaty Rights in the UK as a self-employed person. Based upon what you are now saying it is clear to me that you have indeed been exercising Treaty Rights in that way....
