Re: Any visa possibilities for mother of British child?

10 year route is 10 years legal stay. My suggestion is to not run the visa gauntlet with HRA apps and hoping for this and hanging on for that, it's years of worry and uncertainty. Best way is for you to fulfill the requirements of the visa somehow, work three jobs, use savings, do it somehow. Manuf...

Re: Any visa possibilities for mother of British child?

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I've looked at that before, but it says: "You can apply to extend or switch in any of these routes if you’re eligible, except if you have permission to be in the UK: as a visitor for less than 6 months – unless you got your visa to get married or become civi...

Any visa possibilities for mother of British child?

I am British and my wife is Chinese, we have a 3 year old son with a British Passport. Currently my wife is visiting UK on a family visit visa which is about to expire. I also have a startup company in UK which although isn't making enough money to sponsor my wife for a settlement visa at the moment...

Applying for Irish visa outside country of residence

Hi, I am British and my wife is Chinese. She is currently visiting me in UK on a family visit visa. We were planning on traveling to Ireland with the possibility of moving there to live and exercising my treaty rights, so tried to apply for an entry visa under Directive 2004/38/EC. When trying to su...

Yes, it is self employment...

but I would regard it as a workaround in the sense that someone could do it with their own savings and without any of the difficulties of seeking paid employment, or trying to create a profitable business of their own.

From my understandings there is a workaround... The person with the £20,000 savings could form a UK company and invest the savings into it. The same person then registers as self employed in the new member state... The UK company then hires the self employed worker as an overseas contractor, therefo...

Thanks, the only problem I can see with that method is you need to be in UK on a visa other than a visit visa. I don't think my wife would be able to qualify for a study visa or a work visa... are there any other types of visa which are not visit visas which she might be eligible for? Failing that i...

Thanks for your quick reply.

I was aware of the Surrinder Singh route, but was hoping to find another method which didn't require leaving UK for 3-6months.

I haven't heard of the family life route, do you have a link to info?

Visa for non-EU parent of UK citizen child

I'm a British citizen, my wife is non_EU, we have a 2 year old son who is British. We are currently in UK, my wife is here on a family visit visa (as my salary isn't enough to sponsor for a settlement visa). While looking through the UKBA website I found this... http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/pol...

Re: Travel to Schengen, without visa, for EEA-family members

[*]Not (yet) in possession of the residence-card as per Part 1 OR [*]legally living outside the EU altogether[/list]In this case you are still legally entitled to travel to all of the EEA (not Switzerland :!: ), as long as your partner travels with you, or you "join the partner". Is this ...
