I got my British passport in 2004 but looks like will need a new one soon as the pages have almost run out thanks to all my trips to Nigeria, China and Kazakhstan on work(only 2 blank ones left- I did not get the 48 page one which was a mistake)! Do I apply for a new passport as usual or is there so...

Re: British passport Question

Are you sure? I don't know for sure, but I thought that Spain (and maybe also Argentina) only allowed dual citizenship with other Spanish/Latin American countries, not in general. He should check this out thoroughly. That is not true- I know a couple of my friends who have both Spanish and British ...

Re: British passport Question

Thanks for the reply JAJ. The parents of his mother were born in the UK and were married at the time she was born- so she is British. However, she was not born in the UK, but in Argentina. neither Spain nor Argentina has any problem with dual nationality, so he can keep these citizenships even if he...

British passport Question

I have an Argentinian friend whose mother is British by birth. She was born to British parents in Argentina, had a British passport and did not bother to renew it after 1980's (but never renounced it- it says British Citizen by birth). Her husband is Spanish as well as Argentinian and she got a Span...

My friend came into the UK with the old green sticker recently on a valid passport. No questions asked. I also came in yesterday with the ink stamp (not even the green sticker) on my passport- no questions asked. However, one of my friends who had come in with the stamp was asked to go and get ILR ...

Thanks a lot.

John,
Three weeks to communicate that the application was successful is what I meant.
Hopefully, home office will decide on the application soon. I am due to be interviewed for a job with the EU, for which I need to be an EU citizen.

Naturalisation times after 28th July

I submitted my naturalisation application on 20th August and received acknowledgement in September. I was told that the home office is very quick these days and takes 2-3 months maximum to approve routine applications (such as mine after 5 years work permit employment with the same employer). In fac...
