Re: Referee for British Citizenship

1. Professor is just a glorified variant of "lecturer" (this also includes senior lecturer, reader, etc.) and lecturer is on HO list. Plenty of people get university profs as a referee. 2. The only case when referee needs to know applicant in "professional capacity" is when appli...

Re: WILL THIS NOT HAVE AN IMPACT?

She us allowed to work. But she herself is not a European citizen, right? When she applies for PR, since she is above 18, she will have to demonstrate that she is EITHER dependent on you OR a member of your household. Thus, if she lives with you, there will be no problem. The issue might be if she d...

Re: Non-EEA wife travelling to France w/o a visa

There is a lot of discussion about this at "EEA route" subforum - search there. My impression is that if she has 5 years EU residence card, then it might work, and with PR it might be more difficult. Basically, her residence needs to show "family member of EU citizen" and mention...

Re: EU national want to move Spain with non EU spouse and dependent mother for settlement.

I assume your wife and mother are not EU (or the case simplifies significantly). Look at the first link I posted - it is in English (it is Spanish embassy in London). You can apply for visa for your family members to accompany you to Spain. It is free, and you do not need to prove that you have work...

Re: EU national want to move Spain with non EU spouse and dependent mother for settlement.

Do you speak Spanish? Just get visas for your family members https://uk.blsspainvisa.com/london/eea_eu_type_visa.php and then in spain they need to physically go to foreigners office and apply for 5 years resident cards of family members of EU citizen. http://extranjeros.mitramiss.gob.es/es/Informac...

Re: EEA National: Letters from employers

EU nationals do not get passports stamped when entering UK. So they need an alternative evidence that you were physically present in UK most of the time. Any official confirmation that you worked more or less continuously should be sufficient. I'd say P60 are enough. I think they actually can access...

Re: Few question before apply citizenship next month

The date of application is the date you receive confirmation after you submit and pay for application (usually next day after submission) The biometric appointment can be one month later or more, but it does not matter. You can travel abroad between the time you submitted application and the day of ...

Re: Days of presence in the UK

Check your passport(s) and mention all trips for which you have passport stamps (you might have no UK stamps, but some foreign countries will stamp your passport - especially if you travelled outside EU). Otherwise, to ease your mind and cover all bases, you can just attach cover letter telling that...

Re: UK passport application - 3rd country passport lost

Thanks. That was my reasoning - assume I have 2 citizenships - then they might want to make sure that my name is the same in documents for both countries (so they might insist on me providing a proof of how my name is written for both countries - be it a passport or something else). Otherwise i do n...

UK passport application - 3rd country passport lost

When one applies for first UK passport, they require to send all passports of other countries. We seem to have misplaced one of two passports of my younger kid (age 11) - the non-EU one (he is already double national - from France and from another, non-EU, country). We still have his French passport...

Surinder Singh for other countries (France)

I am French citizen, but I lived/worked in UK for last 6 years.
Do you know of any cases/references on how to use Surinder Singh if I want to return to France and bring my non-EU family member (retired parent, currently living with me on PR)?

Re: Residence permit for dependent parent

As far as I remember, it is enough to show that they are EITHER dependent on you OR are members of your household. If they live with you, it is probably easier to prove that they are members of your household. You can add them to electricity bill. They can get some official letters to your joint add...

Re: Travel outside UK between Online form submission & bio-metrics

I am under the impression that the date of application is when you submit it online and receive acknowledgement, not the date when you do biometric. So any trips after that confirmation email do not count. Is not it the case? So, if you apply on 23/12 and get email with confirmation on, say, 25/12, ...

What happens after UKVCAS appointment?

Probably a very stupid question: I attended my UKVCAS appointment last Wednesday. The guy said that he is sending my application to UKVI and that I should receive a confirmation email from them (and then I will just have to wait for the decision). Does HO indeed sends an email that they got document...

Parents consent forms ??

I am applying for naturalisation for me and my children (born out of UK).
I was told that I will be able to download parents consent forms, but I do not see them on the application page. What should i do? Does anyone have a template? Or probably an empty form downloaded?

Thank you!

Absences in UK: 478/110 (employer letter) ?

Dear all: I am counting my absences days and getting just below 480 days over last 5 years and about 110 days in last year. Re: applying with solicitor or without

A mere fact of using a solicitor would not change how HO deals with your aplication. So if you rerad the HO instructions, understand them well and think you can provide all they want, you do not need a solisitor. If you have questions or doubts about what type of applicationm you are eligible for, w...
