Re: Photo for application - same as in ID ?

PR application for my partner and kids was approved yesterday - and looking at their resident cards I realised that the photos we sent are the same as on their French ID cards we sent as proofs of identity (and those ID cards were issued about a year ago!) My colleague is still waiting for he...

1. HO guidance says that "direct" family members who aechildren over 21 or parents need t oshow dependancy: Here, page 11-12 https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/727595/free-movement-rights-direct-family-members-of-EEA-nationals-v6...

Re: European family member PR application - but Residence Permit not stuck on the passport - is it ok to keep and travel

It means nothing in terms of decision, it is part of standard process. Every non-EU person has to do biometrics. They will only start looking at yor application after they receive your fingerprints/photo/signature.

Re: COA not received

For your statistics: we submitted biometrics, for 2 family members out of 5 applying, on 15/09.
(we have 3 EU passports and 2 non-EU passports; applied via ESPC on 6/09).
And so far we only received COA for 1 family member (one of the 2 who had to do biometrics), dated 26/09.

Re: Sponsor ID submitted 2 days before it expires for PR Retain right

French authorities prolonged validity of french ID crds, issued after 2004 and originally valid for 10 years, to 15 years. So if your ex’s ID is one of those, it is technically still valid for another 5 years. I think there are people on this forum who were pondering submitting “expired” French IDs ...

Re: e-mail confirmations for online applications ?

One more bizarre observation: so far we recieved one COA only (dated 26/09) - for that kid with non EU passport (referring to him as a citizen of that non EU country and with right to work).
HO ways are incomprehensible to me.

Re: Applying for EEA FP or entering the UK via France?

The impression I got from a history of several cases of friends in several years, is that Eurostar border control can be more painful then ones in the UK airports. Especially if you have a shaky case (like entering with EU spouse without family permit). So I do not recommend using Eurostar in such c...

Re: e-mail confirmations for online applications ?

We have 1 kid who has EU citizenship, but when applying we only submitted his non-EU passport (and only mentioned his EU citizenship as a 2nd citizenship in questionnaire). He later received biometric letter (as a non-EU would) We filled 2 different applications: one for my husband + kids, and one f...

Re: Returning EEA residence card after change of citizenship (non-EEA to EEA)

My understanding is that both EU and non EU members of EU citizen family get EEA2, but: - EU citizens family members get “resident permit” - non-EU family members get “resident card” The reason being that EU citizens already have required biometric ID (their EU id/passport), while non-EU people may/...

Re: Permanent Residence as a child aged 21 or over - Proof of dependency

In my opinion, you do not need to show dependency before the date you turned 21. After that you need to show either financial dependency or that you were mamber of their household. You do not need to show it “till now”, just for 5 years. It seems at least your parent was here for more then 5 years, ...

It is not per application. And for one of the kids we submitted non-EU passport data (he has EU citizenship, but we are in pro...

Re: European family member PR application - but Residence Permit not stuck on the passport - is it ok to keep and travel

There might be a problem with traveling (and this applies even if your Residence is in your passport): If HO refuses your application while you are abroad, Border authorities can get inormed about it, and then you will have problems when coming back. So I would not travel unless it is really importa...

Re: EEA2 Residence to expire Feb 2019

I do not think expected waiting times differ. As for amount of information required, it depends on your case. For example, if EU worker works continuously for 5 years, then 5 consecutive P60 are enough to prove both their residence and exersising treaty rights (so application consists of just - pass...

Re: EEA2 Residence to expire Feb 2019

I do not see any point applying for RC. The only difference between applying for RC and PR is that for PR you need to demonstrate that - your partner exercised treaty rights for 5 years - you resided in UK for 5 years If it is easy to prove (say she has all her P60, you have bank statements showing ...

Re: Photo for application - same as in ID ?

Well, I advised her to send new photos, and she did a few days ago. It would be intersting though to find a real case which was refused because of that. I found several cases where people say “I sent an old picture, but still got approved”, but no case where someone said “they refused ME because of ...

Re: EEA2 Residence to expire Feb 2019

Note that 5 years after which you acquire permanent residency start from the day you entered UK, not from the day they issued you EEA2. If it expires in February 2019, it means it was granted in February 2014. But you applied before that, and you entered UK even before you applied. So probably you a...

There is a procedure called “reconsideration” - if they made a factual mistake; you send all documents back, but do not pay, point at their mistake and say you want them to reconsider Page 42 of this: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/727...

Re: European family member PR application - but Residence Permit not stuck on the passport - is it ok to keep and travel

My reading of the rules says that it is much safer to send the original, not a copy. So I decided to send the original. We have the same case of EEA2 on a separate sheet of paper for a non-EU family member, and we submitted an applicaton online about 2 weeks ago and already did byomwetrics. I am pla...

Photo for application - same as in ID ?

A colleague recently sent her application for EU PR, and then realized the photo she sent was the same she made for her ID about a year ago (and she sent to HO that same ID card). I believe HO requires “recent” photo, and they clearly would observe that her one is not recent. But would they reject h...
