Re: Settled Status after Naturalization

... I had my ceremony I cut my card 4 prices and sent it to the home office as adviced ... You did not need to do it. This is the requirement for BRP, but not for BRC obtained via EU route. As for Settled Status records, they are known to update them very slowly (as is with everything they do). Peo...

Re: Referee and photo

1. You have to print the form, attach your photo to the form, and then referee has to sign it. After that you have to scan and upload the form. The requirement to put your name and DOB on the back of the photo comes from the time you had to send the form in - so they could identify it if it falls of...

Re: Family members need CSI?

She does not need CSI if you yourself are EU citizen. Dependents of EU citizen worker (it does not matter whether they are EU citizens themselves or not) do not need CSI. It is the reverse case where CSI is needed: if a EU citizen does not work, but their spouse, who is NOT EU citizen, works. Then t...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

My colleague is from Glasgow also (I am helping him, as he is over 70 and rather lost in contemporary digital world), and got approval letter on September 4, but no invitation yet. We even did not try to call for him: I had my ceremony in Glasgow last December, and remember very clearly they only ta...

Re: EEA permanent residence card

Agree - but again, any scenario you describe can happen to a EU citizen with settled status in the future. And so far HO refuses to issue them any card (there is some activism around it to lobby for physical document - exactly by reasons you mention)

Re: Proving settled status for non EEA at border from Jan 2021

To update the document linked to your status (or other information): https://www.gov.uk/update-uk-visas-immigration-account-details They will ask you to send them your new document. In our case they returned it in about a month, and then about three months later they sent an email stating that they ...

Re: Proving settled status for non EEA at border from Jan 2021

The tread you cite refers to visa-national. The author is US citizen (non-visa national) We are in the same situation so I would like to understand what would happen in 2021.. It seems to me not having a card should not be a problem.. In our case (my mother holds US passport + settled status) we nee...

Re: EEA permanent residence card

Yes, we understand that, but I am talking about non-visa person (US passport). We never had an issue boarding a plane to UK by just showing US passport (without showing BRC for UK). Also, EU citizens will not get any card, right? So, if a French person with settled status is abroad, and wants to com...

Re: EEA permanent residence card

Is there any information on whether UK border officers will be able to access digital Settled status database? If a person is not EU, but is a non-visa national (so there will be no problem boarding the plane), and if digital settled status is connected to the passport?

Re: Old dependant application issues

In late August and September they introduced an app which one could use to upload passport, if one did biometrics before (my mother did in 2018, when she applied for PR - since she was non-EU citizen). That way some people did not need to go to UKVCAS and it eased the post-lockdown backlog there. Th...

Re: Greyscale or colour

I had several instances over last year when I was sending copies of my documents to différent places (lawyer office, bank, etc.) and they were not happy with color copies as they stated their system would no accept the quality - so I re-did in grayscale an then it worked. Now, color is accepted by H...

Re: British citizenship by birth

Ah, and actually, yes: your husband does not need your consent to apply for child's UK passport, but you can STOP him from getting child's UK passport by calling Passport Office (and you might also be able to cancel existing child's UK passport that way too, though here I am less sure)

Re: British citizenship by birth

To get a russian passport for the child you also do not need to get consent of two parents. You would need your husband's agreement to get him Russian CITIZENSHIP - in case the child would not have one. However, since BOTH you and your husband have Russian citizenship, your children are automaticall...

Re: British citizenship by birth

Your child IS already UK citizen (as long as your husband obtained PR before his birth) If a child is UK citizen, then one parent can apply for UK passport, and they do not need a consent from another parent. (They will need to send to passport office child photo, child birth certificate, child fore...

Re: Leaving UK for a few months after naturalisation application

There are no rules on how much you can spend abroad AFTER submitting your application.
However, your behaviour should not lead to any possible doubts in your future intentions to live in UK.

They want ALL passports in your possession - including expired (but not cancelled).
They usually return supporting documents after they send you your new UK passport (normally a few days after)

Re: Missing Passport Stamps due to eGates

My point was that HO has to routinely deal with applications where people do not have passport stamps (or any proof of entry/exit), and as long as you can show continuous physical presence it is not an issue (having job is the best, but there are also other options) P.S. Just to clarify (for my own ...

Re: Missing Passport Stamps due to eGates

EU citizens do not get their passport stamped on entry to UK (or in EU countries) - still there is no "proof of each entry" required. HO asks EU citizens to demonstrate that they physically resided in UK in last 5 years - say by showing continuous employment or being a student, etc. (and t...

Re: citizenship via EEA PR route after dec 2020

The deadline to apply for settled status is June 30 2021.
In your shoes I would just wait for the ceremony, and only IF it is stilL not done by early next June then I would apply for settled status.
