Re: EEA FM APPLICATION FOR MY MOTHER

I am not sure about mentioning formal regulations - personally I would stick to “general narrative” for my first application, and only start mentioning laws formally if I am refused and try to object to it. Also, we foreigners tend to write too much - to make sure we mention every small detail - and...

Re: EEA FM APPLICATION FOR MY MOTHER

My personal experience is that wast majority of “paid legal help” is an impediment rather then advantage, if you are educated and organised enough to read carefully and follow general instructions. A really good solicitor can help, as they might know some nuances you are not aware from publicly avai...

Re: EEA PR cover letter

Guy at EPRS wanted to scan and send copies of our European ID cards. I had to stop him and say that no, only for passports one can send copies, and that we do need to add original IDsas per HO requirements. (we were only using passports for 2 people out of 5) To which he said “OK, I do not know, you...

Re: EEA (PR) for dependent parent: Proof of dependency

I would say from the day they entered UK, no ? My mother entered UK 16/07/2013, we applied for EEA2 next day (17/07/2013), and got it for her on 14/01/2014. But I count 5 years from 16/07/2013. And now (2 weeks ago) we submitted applications for PR fir her and us (all family exept her is EU, she is ...

Re: EEA FM APPLICATION FOR MY MOTHER

Did you (not your brother and sister) send money to her regularly in last 1-2 years? Do you have record of that? You need to show that she is finantially depndent on you : ************ For dependent direct family members (direct descendants age 21 or over and dependent relatives in the ascending lin...

Re: Sponsor not working

Whether non-Eu person was working or not is irrelevant. Your status in UK depends on her ONLY. If she was not working, she can apply as "self-sufficient" (based on your earnings), but in this case she had to pay for health insurance for 5 years, which I suspect she did not. If she was work...

Re: EEA (PR) for dependent parent: Proof of dependency

You can apply for her as either "dependent parent" (direct family member, you have to show financial dependency) or "household member" (family member, you have to show she lives with you). You do not need to show both. Page 16 of guidance https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/...

Re: How HO knows about absences from UK?

Well, if I would be able to do it easily, I would. However, we had that family member travelling in the middle of 1st year (one long trip, less then 6 months for sure, most probably around 5 - but we do not remember exact dates, and this is honest!) + at the end of the 1st year (2-3 weeks). So if th...

Re: EEA PR cover letter

There is an opinion (not sure how true it is) that it is better not to do cover letter, if there is nothing non-trivial in your application which you feel you would need to explain. This opinion is based on the assumption that upon getting your application a low level officer does “sorting”, where a...

Re: PR Card - Bioetric Letter Waiting Time

We sent applications via EPRS one day after you (on 6/09), and got biometric letters today (15/09). From timelines I saw, you should wait at least a few days more before starting to worry. Somewhere I saw a reccomendation to send an email to eurobiometrics@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk if you do not get bio...

Re: e-mail confirmations for online applications ?

While I was pondering on this, we've finally got the conirmation e-mail on our last applicant. It was on 12/09, nine days after all other e-mails. We sent documents via EPRS on 6/09. and post tracking says they arived to HO on 7/09. No biometric letters yet. Strange... My only guess is that, indeed,...

Re: Applying for residence card after 6 months FM

We applied for EEA2 (for my dependent mother) next day after her and mine arrival to UK. We had a temporary accommodation (for 2 months) provided by my employer (I had contract before arriving to UK), confirmed by a letter which showed both mine and her names. So, I submitted that letter, my job con...

Re: e-mail confirmations for online applications ?

No one had the some problem? We went to EPRS today, they copied passports and sent out our applications. But they of course do not know aything about how HO functions (they even did not know whether they can only cerify-copy passports or whether they can ertify-copy IDs as well). Should I call HO? I...

Re: PR for Non eea family member of an eea national

I am under impression that it is enough to show
EITHER financial dependancy OR living in the same household.
Hence, if applicant lived together with the sponsor for 5 qualifying years, this would be sufficient, no matter financial part.
No?

Re: EEA-Ukraine marriage certificate and EEA permit

Also, from my memory (from 5 years ago) she does not need your passport to apply for Family Permit, - a copy of your passport, certified by your country embassy in Ukraine, would be enough. So you only need to be physically present for the marriage itself (not sure how painful is this procedure in U...

Re: EEA-Ukraine marriage certificate and EEA permit

No, you will not have to legalize Ukrainean marriage certificate in Poland! No "apostille" either. You will just have to translate it into English (in Ukraine in some decent translation office - should be quick and cheap), and then, yes, she will have to apply for Family Permit from Ukrain...

Re: Can we send a registration certificate instead of sponsor's passport for EEA(FM) application?

I believe that: - you/him cannot apply online and use EU passports return service if you apply alone as a family member; you have to apply y papre form - you need to send your sponsor's pssport (and thewn ou can request it back without stopping them dealing with our application - but it might take s...

How HO knows about absences from UK?

EU citizens and family members do not get stamps in the passport and do not fill landing cards. We recently made a Serivece Request for personal information, and it returned with only one date - the date of person 1st entry to UK (on Family Permit). It also was stated there that since there are no l...

Re: EU citizen living for 10+ years in the UK need advice about US partner

It is much cheaper and easier to bring your partner to UK as EU citizen (compared to British citizen) - so do it before naturalizing. You get married, you apply for Family Permit (visa to properly enter UK), and once in you apply or EEA2 5 years residence for your partner. For Family Permit you will...

If the only issue is passport: If he applies online using eu passports verification service, he does not need to send his passport anywhere - he goes there, they make a copy of his passport and send his application to HO, and he keeps the passport. Then next day you send your application on paper fo...

Once you complete online application and pay, you are directed to the page which says that you habe to EITHER send your application by post within 10 working days, OR go to passport return service within 10 working days. So yes, you can use online application and then just send it yourself. Also: yo...
