On the other hand, I looked at COA letter, and it shows Liverpool address - so indeed it seems very probable that they still actually deal with applications in Liverpool, even though initial acceptance of and sorting is in Durham..

Thank you! But I am not sure: from search it seems that Liverpool address is the one where people had to send EEA applications before (like in 2011-2012), and they changed it to Durham address after they introduced the fees in July 2013. The way I could understand it from the internet search is that...

I was planning to send them (today/tomorrow) a letter about changing the address (together with a copy of COA and my last joint bank statement with my mother, showing new address). But I was planing to send it to the same address I sent EEA 2 to: Home Office – EEA Applications PO Box 590 Durham DH99...

change of address?

I applied for EEA2 almost 5 months ago (in mid-july). Got confirmation of payment, then COA, within few weeks. Got passports back (in envelope I supplied, actually this was on my job address). After that we changed the address. I filled the online address change form, and even had an e-mail exchange...

There are no restrictions on citizenship when you apply for Green Card through work or relatives. The only case when your citizenship matters is when you try to win Green Card by playing the diversity lottery. Countries from which too many people got Green Card recently are not allowed to play; UK i...

They are unpredictable idiots indeed.. A couple of weeks ago I had to bring a child for urgent visit (we were not registered with that GP practice yet). I filled the forms, the lady at the reception looked at it and said "Oh, but he was born in the USA (!) - so he is not entitled to use NHS, he...

While getting Romanian passport can be a painful and time-consuming experience, getting first EEA family permit, and then EEA residence card, using your American passport, could very well be even more painful and time-consuming. On top of it, once you get Romanian passport, your problems in EU will ...

From what I am reading (but I am far from being a specialist), it looks like you have more chances if your parents reside with you in some country other then UK, immediately before you all want to move to UK together with them. So the safest way might be to bring parents to the EU country where UK p...

Access to NHS for a dependent of EU national, working in UK?

I (EU citizen) and my retired mother (non-EU, 68 years old) moved to UK just over a month ago, with the intention to settle permanently. We applied for EEA2 for her, and got COA with right to work. I have a permanent (open ended) full time job, and I pay National Insurance tax. So I guess I am entit...

Well, my issue is with my mother who will need to travel (on Russian passport).. She has her Family permit till mid-January, but I am concerned she will need to travel exactly around that time and will not be able to return before the end of Family permit. My hope is that by that time they will send...

- people request passports as soon as they apply (or as soon as they see that application reached UKBA). I requested it about two weeks after sending application, and got it about a week later: App. sent on 17.07, got letter confirming that they got my app. on 23.07, passports requested (applicant +...

I understand you are in academia, and you hold EU (but not UK) citizenship? Did you think about the following way: - Ask your parents to give you back their property rights for 50% of the apartment (say, by a gift) - Take a leave and go for a sabbatical visit for at least a semester (better a year) ...

I do not know. All I say is that I sent an application, then got exactly the same letter - that they got the application, that they will pass it to case worker, and that if there is a problem with fees then they will return my application, This letter clearly was not COA, and there was no mention of...

I sent EEA 2 application on July 17, got a letter like yours a few days later, and got COA today ( August 8 ), dated July 31. I guess you should get yours within a couple of weeks (they send it 2-nd class mail, so it takes time to arrive).

I finally got mine and my mom's passports. The letter was in my mail-box at work. However, when this morning I checked Royal mail tracking, it still did not show anything (??!). I also got COA for my mom today (also to work address), dated July 31, with the right to work (not that she needs it). Nex...

Thank you guys! This calms me dowm.
I will try to contain my paranoia at least tll the end of the week.
We have a very straightforward case, but somehow I cannot relax about it - probably the accumulation effect of having to deal with too much of immigration papers in my life over last decade..

Passport return - lost in transaction???

I sent EEA 2 application (for my non-EU mother) on July 17, and got a letter, stating that they received my application, a few days later (it seems though that this letter is not COA, for example it does not talk about right to work). Then, on July 31, I asked by e-mail for mine and my mother's pass...

This board was very useful for me as I successfully applied for my 68 old mother's EEA family permit to come with me to UK (I have French passport). Thank you everybody. Bringing old mother to UK with us?

I am a French citizen, I was living and working in USA for last 14 years. My husband, kids, and I are permanently relocating to UK (Scotland) this summer - we both have job offers. My mother is Russian citizen only. She lives with us in USA for last several years (I am also US citizen, and I sponsor...
