Re: Child first British passport after parent's successful naturalisation application

You are not citizen until citizenship ceremony. You can apply for child passport now or later but: My understanding is that in your case it is important NOT to send your BRP back to HO after you go through oath and get naturalisation certificate (in spite of standard guidelines) - since your BRP wil...

Re: Correcting a mistake on my naturalisation certificate

Took almost 2 months in my case (in January/February); and I had to send them (by mail) a reminder letter asking about the status of my certificate - after that a caseworker actually called me and assured me new certificate was on the way. There was someone on this forum recently for whom it is taki...

Re: employment history and residence requirements

This is first entry with intent to settle. If you visited many years ago, then left, and then finally came for good later, the last date is correct. You can provide approximate dates and info on the form (some entries allow you to just choose month and year), and explain that it is all approximate t...

Application submitted on (28 of August), biometrics submitted via (IDV only) route on (7 of September). Still waiting for approval.

Applicant is over 70 (they state they would prioritise IDV invitations for people over 70)

Re: **** COVID19 Biometrics appointments and UKVCAS ***** (Discuss here ONLY)

One week ago, all appointments in Glasgow were at least £110. Now there are free appointments available (even early in the morning and late in the day)..
We did the app though, so I am not sure we need to also book an appointment.. Seems a bit extreme..

Re: Naturalisation after ILR newbie questions

Normally they ask for birth certificates of children as evidence of your parental authority, and marriage certificate is also mainly for children cases (you do not need it for each other application, since each of you applied on your own merit) You need to translate all non-english documents into en...

Re: Question about absences and cabin crew

It seems HO is normally favorable if absences are "unavoidable consequences of your work". Jobs like cabin crue should obviously fall in this category. I know of many university people (where it is much less obvious case - though still, many of them travel often for the job), who got citiz...

Re: Naturalisation-what docs to upload?

If you submitted application already you had to include all your absences in last 5 years in your application (there is a whole section on trips abroad!). Usually, the only people who also upload separate list of absences are those who had more then 30 trips in last 5 years (for whatever reason, the...

Re: Home Office lost my citizenship certificate

My certificate had a spelling mistake. I sent it for correction in January, and then after 1 month or so I sent them a letter asking what is going on. I received a phone call a few days later, where they said that they are sorry for delay and that my certificate is on the way. Indeed, it arrived a c...

Oh, I have UK applestore (and I even downloaded app already), UK debit card, and even vpn.. But I remember that, at least initially, app for settled status could only be used in UK. My mum is currently in UK. Probably it is the safest to let her do app, and only then to fly her out. (I am spending s...

Re: **** COVID19 Biometrics appointments and UKVCAS ***** (Discuss here ONLY)

I submitted citizenship application for my 75 years old mother on August 28. Today I received the email that she is eligible to use IDV app (she did biometrics in 2018 for her EU PR card, she is non-EU family member of EU citizen). It says she cannot use it now, but should receive invitation to use ...

UKVCAS - documents uploading?

I just submitted application for my mother. I know that we cannot book biometric appointment now, as there is a backlog (and she did biometrics before, so she might receive an invitation to use the app instead). However, I thought we might still upload documents now via UKVCAS website. I believe thi...

Re: Citizenship - documents needed

If you worked or studied in UK, provide documents that show it. Otherwise - any official documents demonstrating you were in UK physically. They say bank statements or utility bills are not very good. Council tax may be better. Though if your bank account is on your name only and it shows continuous...

Re: Citizenship - documents needed

You have to provide documents, demonstrating physical presence in UK in last 5 years. As a family member of EU person, you do not have your passport stamped when you enter UK, so your passport does not demonstrate when you were in UK. If you worked continuously, forms p60 for last 5 years should be ...

Re: **** COVID19 Biometrics appointments and UKVCAS ***** (Discuss here ONLY)

When I booked for the friend, Glasgow had many free appointments. Now, it means traveling to Scotland, so probably many people do not think about it as an option, but on certain days (at least on Fridays) there is a convenient easyjet from Luton - you go at 8 am, return at 8 pm same day, and it cost...

I remember when I applied a year ago there were also plenty of free appointments in Gla...

submission date and job abroad

Trying to help a friend who just submitted application. It seems they got two issues: 1. They were working in UK all the time (so they will upload P60 forms), but they also had part-time employment abroad for a couple of years, which they did not list. Should they have mentioned it in the form? (I g...
