Re: Help with information about previous applications

I believe if she applied for FP in 2013 (outside of UK), then she had to do fingerprints. But for EEA2 Application (5 years card) in 2013-14, made inside UK, there was no biometrics. At least this is how it was for my mother who is non-EU. When we both applied for PR in 2018, she had to do biometric...

Re: MN1 application form

Author says that all family obtained PR in 2016. So children have permanent residence. Now, indeed, it is not clear what to choose on the form - "parents are applying for citizenship " or "other". I guess it is better to choose "parents are applying". (Though children a...

Re: MN1 application form

For children registration it is always "discretion". You are not UK citizen yet, since you did not attend the ceremony. I would not say that you are UK citizen, or "applying" on the form. Instead, after submitting the form, I would upload: your decision letter (and your and your ...

Re: Life in UK - exemption by age

Well, I cited what it says (not that one is exempt, but that one "may be" exempt..). And the application form does not seem to include automatic exemption once age is entered - they filled application, and the checklist still asks about english proficiency proof (?!)... But it seems plausi...

Life in UK - exemption by age

Naturalisation guide says: "If you are aged 65 or over or have a long term physical or mental condition that prevents you from meeting the knowledge of language and life in the UK requirement, you may be exempt. You may apply for exemption by indicating this on your application." The issue...

Re: Naturalisation application for NON EU family member with Settled Status

I guess it is a different question asked: If EU citizen applies as qualified person, based on settled status, they should show that they exercised treaty rights for 5 years. If a dependant applies, based on settled status, they should show that sponsor exersised treaty rights for 5 years. I.e. I wou...

Re: Child Passport Renewal

I would start by sending only documents requested when you do application. If they will need additional documents, they will ask for them (they will send a letter about it). In our case they asked for child birth certificate (which was not on the initial list of documents when we applied), but not f...

Change EU PR card to Settlement card - can we keep PR card?

My non-EU mother (non-visa national - US passport) has Permanent Residence BRC issued under EU rules, and also settled status (attached to this BRC). She will need to travel to France in the fall, and show that BRC there (for purposes of proving that she was already granted EU residence in another c...

Re: Fastest way to move from Russia to UK

It is more or less the same for all western world - and your "friend" should know it. There are essentially following ways to immigrate (i.e. get legal temporary and then permanent residence status, and then eventually arrive to citizenship): - via job: get a good professional job offer (s...

Re: Travelling with my french spouse to france with my uk residence card

As far as I remember the rules, you actually can accompany french citizen family member to France without visa, if this French citizen is resident in another EU country, not France (for example, if they are UK resident). The country X law applies if your family member is citizen of country X and res...

Re: Old dependant application issues

Oh, I have them for every month from 2013 - but I remember seeing somewhere in immigration/naturalisation guides (probably for PR?) that one per year is OK. Utility bills per se clearly do not show her physical presence. Bank statements might do, since they might show everyday transactions using her...

Re: AN application for parent with Settled Status + no CSI

I was a qualified person during Jan 2010-Feb 2018, but stopped working in Mar 2018-Sep 2019 due to illness - so I can't demonstrate being a qualified person in that period. I have had EEA PR since 2018, for the period 2010-2015. My sibling has been in continuous employment during Jan 2013-present -...

Old dependant application issues

Dear all: I will soon be applying for UK citizenship for my 75 years old mother. (non-EU family member of EU citizen). She has PR from July 2018, and settled status, and she was in UK from July 2013. 1. Our main issue is that it seems she was abroad for a bit more then 450 or even 480 days (between ...

On top of being able to upload additional sheet, I think the firm itself allows for up to 30 trips (my memory is that you probably do not see all 30 lines initially, but they appear once you start filling those lines)

Re: Child First British Passport-Required Documents

In my case they only asked for child birth certificate - which had parents' names, but did not mention whether parents were married or not. They did not ask for anything else - like consent of 2nd parent, or marriage certificate, etc. My guess is that it might be that if a cild is born in UK then th...

I am not sure what you mean by time clock. Once you become a citizen, she can apply as a spouse (next day). But she can still apply in a regular way too. It is her choice (but she has to clearly state it in application). In BOTH cases they expect her to be abroad not more then certain number of days...

Spousal route still requires 270 days absences max in last 3 years before applying (and max 90 in last year). But if she was in UK for more then 5 years you can apply for discretion (same as 7 years in general case). You will have to calculate which option looks better (? less days per year of absen...

Re: SPOUSE ABSENCE EXCEEDS

I consulted extensively on a similar case. It seems that as a minimum she should wait until she lived in UK for 7 years and until her absences are below 90 days in last year (then there is no guarantee for approval, but at least there are some good chances). In her case, she can also wait until you ...
