By sending a joint application we paid less. This makes me think that being joint, if one is refused the other will be too. They are separate applications, the only concession being about application fee. There is no evidence that if one application fails then the other must also fail. Is there any...

There is no requirement for 5 year evidence when applying, just the last year. are you taking about residence or self assesment? Evidence for 5 years of residence is required even if you have PR. The 5 year evidence was provided for the Indefinite Leave to remain. We are EU citizens, we don't get s...

I assume refusal will be for me as well considering it is a joint application. I do not think that is correct. Each application will be considered on its own merits. I am surprised by the request for more information from HMRC, given UKBA have access to the HMRC computer system. When signing the Na...

Has you husband provide a passport covering the 5 years of residence? It is unusual for the HO to ask for additional tax information unless you haven't provided evidence of 5 years of residence in the first place. There is no requirement for 5 year evidence when applying, just the last year. The 5 ...

Contact the HMRC first thing tomorrow morning and urgently request these. They are able to print them off the system and send to you within a week. Stress the urgency of the request so it can be prioritised. During my self-employment the HMRC always sent SA statements through the post after my SA h...

Re: Question on Return of Documents

I applied for Citizenship by sending all original docs with application to UKBA on 01-May-2013 Unfortunately (for me), an urgent and unexpected work trip has come up for me in June, so I need my passport back in case it takes longer than the average processing time of 4 weeks. Does anyone know what...

Re: Request of documents while the application is decided

My only concern is not to invalidate de application (to be considered us withdrawn) if I request the passport. Not many applicants seem to have this issue. There is no need to worry about that. I haven't read anything (except on this forum) that says you can't get documents back without withdrawing...

Re: Request of documents while the application is decided

Apparently it take 20days to get the documet/s back, therefore I need to hurry. Unfortunately I have only found out about this forum today. It seems quite helpful however I did not seem to be able to find a contact number for UKBA. 20 days is a conservative estimate! They also told us to wait 20 da...

Re: Request of documents while the application is decided

Will the application be invalidated should I ask for the passport back while the application is in process? As far as I read the request isn't recommended. On another had they also say that 'only the document holder can request the document back, unless it is a withdrawal of an application in which...
